HELLA Partners With Robb Holland For The 2025 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb And Special Awards
HELLA GmbH & Co. KGaA, known as FORVIA HELLA, is enhancing its brand visibility by sponsoring the 2025 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC). This includes supporting the Time Attack 1 Division and presenting the HELLA Hype and Heritage Awards. These awards aim to honour teams and drivers who excel in their performance. The event will feature veteran racers Robb Holland and Clint Vahsholtz driving HELLA-sponsored Porsche vehicles.
Robb Holland will compete in a Rotek Racing-prepared 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 RS Cup car. The vehicle sports a unique HELLA design and minimal upgrades, except for JRZ active dampers to handle the challenging course conditions. Holland's car is equipped with a Starlink datalink to livestream his attempt during the 103rd PPIHC on June 22, making him potentially the first driver to broadcast live from the event.
As part of its brand awareness campaign, HELLA sponsors the Time Attack 1 Division Award at PPIHC. Trophies will be awarded to podium finishers in this class, which includes modified and production-based two- and four-wheel drive vehicles. Eligibility criteria include original configuration for air/fuel delivery, number of cylinders, and drive wheels.
The HELLA Hype Award allows fans to nominate their favourite driver, with final voting at Fan Fest on June 20. The driver with most votes receives a special award from Rob Tinson, HELLA Vice President, along with $2000. The HELLA Heritage Award also offers $2000 to the driver with most finishes at PPIHC.
Clint Vahsholtz will drive a HELLA-sponsored 2023 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport. This car has won both the 2025 Pirelli GT America and GT4 America championships. Vahsholtz aims to secure the Pikes Peak GT4 Trophy by Yokohama. He began competing in Stock Cars before switching to cars in 1996 after starting with motorcycles in 1992.
With a racing career starting in 2011, Robb Holland initially focused on touring cars before turning his attention to Pikes Peak in 2016. He set a front-wheel drive record during his first attempt there. His extensive experience and simulator practice are expected to aid him in winning the HELLA Time Attack 1 class trophy this year.
