Helix Appoints Warren Roberts As Chief Operating Officer To Propel Growth In Electric Powertrain Solutions

Helix, a UK-based manufacturer known for its high-performance electric motors and inverters, has appointed Warren Roberts as Chief Operating Officer. This strategic move aims to support the company's global expansion and growth. Roberts brings extensive experience from his previous role as Managing Director of Prodrive's composites division, where he led teams on high-performance projects.

Roberts' career includes significant roles at major engineering firms, such as Group Manufacturing Director at JCB and Managing Director positions at Alumasc and MAHLE UK. His expertise in operations and leadership will be crucial for Helix's ambitious plans. "We are glad to welcome Warren to the team," said Darren Cairn, Helix's CEO. "This appointment underscores Helix’s ambitious growth plan of scaling production of our world-class electric powertrain solutions and expanding our product offering."

Warren Roberts Joins Helix as COO

Helix is renowned for its cutting-edge electric powertrains, which include scalable high-power-density motors and inverters. These technologies have been successfully integrated into various markets like Formula E motorsport, hypercars such as the Czinger 21c and Aston Martin Valkyrie, vertical take-off aircraft, space launch providers, motorcycles, and watercraft in the E1 Race Series.

Earlier this year, Helix appointed Dr. Mike Bolen as Director for North America to enhance its global presence. This move is part of a broader strategy to deliver top-tier products worldwide. The company operates from its headquarters in Milton Keynes, UK, where it also houses a state-of-the-art production facility.

"This is an exciting moment to be joining Helix," said Roberts. "Its exceptional technology is already disrupting numerous industries, especially those that are early in their electrification journey." He emphasised his commitment to focusing on customer needs and ensuring the product range meets expectations to achieve growth targets.

Commitment to Innovation

Founded in 1998 as an internal combustion engine consultancy, Helix transitioned into designing and manufacturing electric motors and inverters by 2009. With around 200 employees and approximately 86,000 square feet of engineering space across three sites in Milton Keynes, the company continues to innovate within the electric mobility sector.

Helix's proprietary Scalable Core Technology products offer unmatched performance for electric and hybrid vehicles across various applications. The company's modern production facility ensures a reliable supply chain for its offerings.

The appointment of Warren Roberts marks a pivotal step for Helix as it seeks to expand its influence across new sectors like marine and aerospace while continuing to serve automotive and motorsport partners effectively.
