Hatchback Sales Decline In May As SUV Sales Boom - Swift Still The King
In May 2025, hatchback sales in India reached 74,100 units, significantly outpacing sedans, which sold only 31,106 units. Despite the dominance of hatchbacks over sedans, the demand for hatchbacks has been slowing down. Meanwhile, SUVs are gaining popularity among Indian buyers. Maruti Suzuki's Swift, WagonR, and Baleno together captured a 54% market share in the hatchback segment.
