Great Northern Classics Meet Brings Together Performance Cars From Across The UK
Nearly 70 car enthusiasts gathered at the Great Northern Classics (GNC) meet on 21 May, hosted by Milltek. The event took place at the historic Victoria Ironworks venue in Derby. Attendees showcased a diverse range of vehicles, including Dodge RAM TRX pick-ups, Porsche 911s, Golf GTIs, Cupras, and BMW M3 models.
The GNC meet attracted nearly 50 cars from across the UK to Derby. The venue, a former Victoria Ironworks foundry, once produced the Rolls-Royce Eagle engine used in WW1 aircraft. Today, it houses workshops for automotive specialists and offers car storage and entertainment spaces.
Milltek's team brought several in-house development vehicles to the event. These included an Audi RS4 B7, BMW M3, Dodge RAM TRX, Porsche 911, MINI Cooper S, and Land Rover Defender. All featured sports exhausts from Milltek’s latest ranges.
Milltek dealers showcased demo cars like Awesome GTI's Stage 3 Tuned C8 RS6 and Luna Customs' second RAM TRX pick-up. Other notable vehicles included JWS Motorworks' MINI GP3 and VAS Motions' R8. Regal Autosports presented their 996 Turbo model.
Hype Motorsport and Avon Tuning arrived directly from the track with Hype's BMW M2 and Avon's new Civic FL5 Type R. The event highlighted a mix of classic and modern performance cars from various manufacturers.
Kev Hall, Technical Operations Manager at Milltek, expressed his excitement about the event: "It was great to see people coming to the Great Northern Classics meet from all over the country in so many great cars." He added that such events allow them to connect with fellow enthusiasts.
