DriveSpark Thinks
Despite the new lower price tag on the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, it is still more expensive than the better equipped Maruti Suzuki Victoris. As such, it is yet to be seen what type of customer will opt for Maruti Grand Vitara over Maruti Victoris.
That said, we expect the Maruti Suzuki Victoris to see immense demand in Indian market, and this demand is likely to have a ripple effect on the sales of Grand Vitara. We also expect this demand for Victoris to increase waiting periods for the model.
So, only under such circumstances, people are likely to gravitate towards Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara over the Maruti Suzuki Victoris SUV. Also, we expect Nexa dealers to offer discounts on their existing stocks of Grand Vitara to sway buyers from Victoris.
