Goodwood Revival Welcomes Legendary Drivers And Riders For Historic Motorsport Event In September 2025

The Goodwood Revival is set to host an impressive array of championship-winning drivers and riders. Among the notable participants are Carlos Checa, a 24-time World Superbike winner, and Tom Kristensen, who has claimed victory at Le Mans nine times. Dario Franchitti, a four-time IndyCar Champion, will also be racing alongside three-time BTCC Champion Gordon Shedden and Scott Dixon, a three-time Daytona 24 Hours winner.

Taking place from Friday 12 to Sunday 14 September, the Goodwood Revival is renowned as the premier historic motorsport event globally. This year's event promises an exceptional line-up of drivers and riders across various motorsport disciplines. The Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy will feature WorldSBK Champion Carlos Checa, who made his debut at the Revival in 2024.

WorldSBK riders Eugene Laverty and Troy Bayliss will join the grid with other accomplished riders boasting 70 Isle of Man TT podiums between them. These include Conor Cummins, James Hillier, John McGuinness, Josh Brookes, Lee Johnston, and Steve Plater. Jenny Tinmouth, the current female Isle of Man TT record holder and 2010 Supersport Cup winner, will also participate alongside Maria Costello MBE.

In Touring Car racing, British Touring Car Champions Gordon Shedden, Jake Hill, Matt Neal, and Tom Ingram will compete. Together they have achieved an impressive 197 BTCC race wins. They will race alongside World Touring Car Champions Andy Priaulx and Rob Huff.

The Revival will welcome ten veterans from the 24 Hours of Le Mans who have collectively amassed 33 victories. "Mr Le Mans" himself, Tom Kristensen leads this group. Joining him are five-time winners Derek Bell and Emanuele Pirro. Three-time winners André Lotterer—also a two-time World Endurance Champion—Darren Turner, Dindo Capello, Marcel Fassler, Romain Dumas as well as winners David Brabham and Neel Jani complete this illustrious line-up.

Representing American motorsport are six-time IndyCar Champion Scott Dixon and four-time IndyCar Champion Dario Franchitti. They will race alongside seven-time NASCAR Champion Jimmie Johnson.

Formula 1 Stars Join the Race

Jenson Button, the 2009 Formula 1 World Champion currently competing in the World Endurance Championship (WEC), is set to race in the Royal Automobile Club (RAC) TT Celebration driving his specially acquired 1962 Jaguar E-Type for this occasion.

Drawing on experience from across the breadth of motorsport these competitors turn their skill and passion to historic racing often facing rivals they’d never otherwise meet on track."

Sustainable Racing Initiatives

This year's event features an all-sustainable fuel race list along with a VW Type 2 Split Screen track opening parade celebrating Alfa Romeo's legacy while honouring two-time Formula One World Champion Jim Clark's achievements including his win at Indianapolis Motor Speedway's iconic Indy500 race.
