Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Reimagined By Singer Makes Dynamic Debut At Goodwood Festival Of Speed

Singer has returned to the Goodwood Festival of Speed for the tenth year, showcasing two Porsche 911 Carrera Coupes reimagined by Singer. These vehicles feature a state-of-the-art, 420HP naturally aspirated flat-six engine, developed with Cosworth's engineering expertise. The design takes inspiration from the rare wide-body variant of the 1980s 911 Carrera, focusing on high-performance driving both on roads and tracks.

The restoration process begins with owners sending their Porsche 911 (Type 964) to Singer for a bespoke restoration. Initially manufactured over thirty years ago, these cars have seen extensive use. The first step involves disassembling the car to reveal the steel monocoque chassis, which is then meticulously assessed and prepared for further restoration stages.

During restoration, Red Bull Advanced Technologies collaborates with Singer to enhance the original Type 964 monocoque's rigidity. This process involves applying composite and steel reinforcement to strengthen the chassis, improving handling and overall refinement. The strengthened chassis serves as an optimized foundation for subsequent restoration stages.

Rob Dickinson, Singer's Founder, Executive Chairman, and Creative Director, stated: "Singer first came to the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2015; we fell in love with it and have been coming back ever since. For 2025 we've brought two Porsche 911 Carrera Coupes Reimagined by Singer with us."

The engine in these reimagined cars draws on Singer's experience with the DLS program. It features a revised four-valve cylinder head developed in collaboration with Cosworth. This engine introduces variable valve timing for improved drivability at low speeds and power at high revs. It also combines water-cooled cylinder heads with air-cooled cylinders.

The Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Reimagined by Singer is limited to just 100 commissions. Each car is restored around its original Type 964 monocoque, incorporating advanced technologies like ABS, traction control, electronic stability control from Bosch, and selectable drive modes.

Interior Craftsmanship

The interiors of these cars showcase remarkable leatherworking techniques. Each car requires approximately 400 hours to complete its interior stitching and burnishing process. One vehicle features Celeste Passalacqua leather combined with Mars Pink velvet corduroy cloth, while another showcases Giallo Segnale leather paired with Interferenza cloth in Black.

Singer's mastery of traditional leatherworking techniques allows owners to request stitched and burnished leather seams throughout the cabin for the first time. Technology is incorporated discreetly for navigation and phone connectivity.

Chassis and Bodywork

Singer's expertise in carbon fibre enables a balance between iconic design and modern engineering. Inspired by Super Sport Equipment from past models, the carbon fibre body reduces mass while enhancing stiffness for sharper dynamic responses. The body accommodates wide front and rear bodywork with options for fixed or speed-activated rear wings.

The dynamic performance of these cars is enhanced through sophisticated suspension systems developed from Singer’s turbocharged services. Four-way adjustable dampers provide precise sports handling, while carbon ceramic brakes offer deep stopping power behind centre-lock wheels.

Personalization Options

Owners can personalize their cars extensively through bespoke paint, leather finishes, lightweight sports seats, and more. Two featured cars highlight different focuses: one tailored for touring with Celeste Passalacqua bodywork; another designed for sports performance featuring Giallo Segnale bodywork.

Singer’s clientele includes discerning drivers supported by a world-class team throughout specification and ownership experiences. Local support is available globally through Singer’s Global Partner Network (GPN), ensuring expert assistance across various markets.

Singer was founded in California in 2009 with a philosophy centred on excellence in restoring classic Porsche 911s collaboratively with owners. Their approach combines modern engineering with homage to iconic sports car designs while maintaining deep connections within California’s automotive culture.
