Genesis Motors Canada Reports Record Annual Sales Of 7,040 Units In 2024 Driven By Strong Demand For SUVs
Genesis Motors Canada has announced record-breaking sales for 2024, marking the highest annual figures in its eight-year history in Canada. The company sold 7,040 units through its 31 distributors nationwide, reflecting a 6.4% increase compared to 2023. The GV70 SUV remained the top-selling model since its launch in late 2021, with sales reaching 4,048 units in 2024, a year-on-year growth of 30.1%.
The GV80 SUV also experienced a positive trend with a year-on-year increase of 6.1%, achieving 1,187 deliveries. The G70 sedan maintained its importance within the lineup, recording annual sales of 818 units. Genesis saw nine months of consecutive growth in Canada during 2024, particularly from August onwards. This was largely due to the sustained demand for the GV70 and GV80 models and the introduction of the new GV80 Coupe.
The GV80 Coupe made its debut at the Presidents Cup PGA TOUR event in September and hit distributor showrooms in autumn. December concluded with a notable sales boost of 12.4%, driven by significant increases for both the G70 and GV80 models, which rose by 14.6% and an impressive 80.4%, respectively.
Eric Marshall, managing director of Genesis Motors Canada, expressed pride in these achievements alongside their distributors. He attributed success to prioritising customer experience beyond typical luxury services. This includes transparent online pricing, at-home test drives, and a five-year worry-free ownership package with complimentary maintenance and roadside assistance.
Marshall acknowledged challenges faced by the Canadian luxury automotive market in 2024 but emphasised perseverance and commitment to personalised guest experiences supported by their award-winning lineup. Looking ahead to 2025, Genesis plans to open ten new GRX facilities across Canada, increasing their total to 27 dedicated stores nationwide.
