Genesis Magma Racing Collaborates With Dynisma To Develop GMR-001 Hypercar For 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship
Genesis Magma Racing has partnered with Dynisma Ltd., acquiring a DMG-360XY simulator to enhance the development of their GMR-001 Hypercar. This advanced simulator, known for its low-latency and high-bandwidth capabilities, is designed to provide a realistic racing experience. Drivers André Lotterer and Pipo Derani will utilise this technology at Dynisma’s UK headquarters to aid in the car's development throughout 2025.
The simulator will be crucial for Genesis Magma Racing as they prepare for the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). The team aims to be competitive from the start, using the simulator to refine their strategies and vehicle performance. The initial sessions with Lotterer and Derani are part of building a strong foundation for the team.
FX Demaison, Technical Director at Genesis Magma Racing, emphasised the importance of simulator work in developing new cars. "Simulator work is key in developing a new car," he stated, highlighting that working with Dynisma's DMG-360XY means collaborating with top-tier technology. This simulator offers high stiffness, ultra-low latency, and unlimited yaw capability, making it an essential tool for realistic race preparation.
André Lotterer praised the simulator's feedback system: "The feedback is immediate and natural," he said. "It feels like driving the real car." This allows drivers to focus on genuine vehicle development without adapting to artificial conditions. Pipo Derani added that their current focus is on familiarising themselves with the simulator while validating software systems like the Hybrid system and brakes.
The purchase of the DMG-360XY supports both current development efforts and future race preparations. By installing a simulator at their Le Castellet base in early 2026, Genesis Magma Racing ensures continuous progress between test days. This strategic investment reflects their commitment to being serious competitors in WEC.
Cyril Abiteboul, Team Principal of Genesis Magma Racing, noted that success in WEC requires maximising every opportunity to gather data and experience. "To be successful in the 2026 WEC season, we need to take every opportunity," he said. The acquisition of Dynisma's technology gives them a head start in developing their hypercar.
