After two days of rigorous testing at the Mudfest 2025 Outdoor Vehicle of the Year Competition, the Northwest Automotive Press Association (NWAPA) awarded it the title of Northwest Luxury SUV of the Year. Genesis Motor North America's COO, Tedros Mengiste, stated, "GV70’s combination of stunning design, refined performance and cutting-edge technology proved its strength across every challenge at Mudfest." The 2026 GV70 boasts a refreshed front and rear fascia, a striking crest grille, and Genesis' signature Two-Line micro-lens array headlamps. Inside, it features a luxurious cabin with a sweeping 27-inch OLED multimedia display, an updated dashboard layout, and a Bang & Olufsen premium sound system. High-end materials like Nappa leather seats and a microsuede headliner enhance the interior's appeal.
Tom Voelk, president of NWAPA, remarked on the vehicle's enhancements: "Always an engaging vehicle, the changes made to the 2026 Genesis GV70 elevate it to a new level of luxury." He emphasized that its refinements in technology and design make it a must-try for potential buyers.
The GV70 is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine paired with electronically controlled suspension. This setup ensures confident performance across different driving conditions. The NWAPA's Mudfest competition involves over 20 automotive media professionals evaluating more than 20 vehicles under real-world conditions.
During day one of testing at Mudfest, vehicles are assessed on paved-road performance aspects such as acceleration, handling, and braking. On day two, they face challenges on a custom off-road course to evaluate traction capabilities, ground clearance, articulation, and driver-assistance features.
