Genesis G80 Achieves Dual Accolades As 2025 Vehicle Of Texas And Luxury Vehicle Of Texas
The 2025 Genesis G80 executive sedan has been recognised with two prestigious awards at the Texas Auto Roundup. It was named both "Vehicle of Texas" and "Luxury Vehicle of Texas" by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA). These accolades highlight the G80's outstanding design, cutting-edge technology, and refined performance, as evaluated by TAWA's experienced journalists.
Genesis has consistently achieved success at TAWA events over the years. Models like the G70, G90, GV60, GV70, and GV80 have previously been honoured as Vehicle of Texas, SUV of Texas, or EV of Texas. This ongoing recognition underscores Genesis' commitment to excellence in automotive design and performance.
The newly redesigned 2025 G80 showcases Genesis' Athletic Elegance design language. It features a refreshed front and rear fascia and Micro Lens Array (MLA) technology in its iconic Two-Line headlamps. Inside, the cabin offers a luxurious experience with a 27-inch OLED integrated instrument cluster and multimedia screen, an updated dashboard, a three-spoke steering wheel design, and new convenience features for enhanced comfort.
Tedros Mengiste, chief operating officer of Genesis Motor North America, stated that the G80 continues to set the standard for refined performance among executive sedans. He emphasised that Texas is a crucial market for Genesis and that receiving top honours from TAWA reaffirms their dedication to captivating customers both in Texas and globally.
Over 20 journalists from across Texas participated in evaluating various vehicles in different categories. They assessed each vehicle based on interior and exterior quality, value, performance, and overall personal appeal. Votes were submitted electronically and calculated by an independent accounting firm before being presented to TAWA for the award announcement.
Cory Fourniquet, TAWA President, praised the Genesis G80 as "the epitome of attainable luxury." He highlighted its powerful engine, effortless manoeuvrability, opulently appointed interior, and striking appearance as reasons why it was named the 2025 Vehicle of Texas.
