Genesis Foundation Donates $100,000 To Enhance Youth Sports And Education In Coastal Georgia
Genesis and the Genesis Inspiration Foundation have pledged $100,000 to support youth sports and education in Coastal Georgia. This region hosts Hyundai Motor Group's first electric vehicle production plant in Bryan County. Drew Ferguson, a senior vice president at Hyundai Motor Group, expressed pride in their commitment to Georgia, highlighting investments and job creation alongside community support.
Brandon Ramirez, director of corporate social responsibility at Genesis Motor America, emphasised the importance of empowering young people through education and sports. He stated, "Participation in educational and youth sports programs are incredibly beneficial for children and set them up for future success. We are thrilled to promote these programs in the Coastal Georgia community."
Genesis has been actively supporting youth sports organisations to foster character development and essential skills like teamwork. Since 2023, Genesis has collaborated with First Tee Savannah to introduce young people to golf while teaching values such as strength and resilience. Additionally, since 2022, they have supported Girls on the Run South Georgia, which offers programs that enhance confidence and physical activity.
Savannah United is another partner of Genesis since 2022. They provide soccer programs that promote self-esteem and character building among children through leagues, camps, and tournaments. These initiatives are part of Genesis's broader effort to enrich young lives through sports.
Genesis also focuses on STEAM education by partnering with institutions like the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Since 2022, this partnership has provided scholarships to students pursuing creative careers. SCAD offers numerous degree programs across various locations worldwide.
The Genesis Inspiration Foundation recently granted $50,000 to Deep Center, a nonprofit using writing and art to inspire Savannah's youth. This grant is part of a larger $3 million commitment aimed at supporting 83 youth arts organisations nationwide.
