Genesis Expands Partnership With TGR Foundation To Advance STEAM Education In Philadelphia

Genesis recently expanded its collaboration with TGR Foundation to enhance STEAM education for young people in Philadelphia. A workshop was held at the new TGR Learning Lab in West Philadelphia, where students explored science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. This initiative aims to provide students with practical experiences and skills relevant to real-world applications.

During the workshop, middle school students showcased their future mobility vehicle designs made from upcycled materials. Brandon Ramirez, director of corporate social responsibility at Genesis Motor America, stated, "Access to quality education programs is critical to fostering a love for learning and empowering the next generation to excel in STEAM fields." He expressed pride in expanding the partnership with TGR Foundation and opening the new learning lab.

The workshop offered students insights into vehicle development and advanced technology demonstrations. They learned about an electrified Genesis vehicle that uses recycled materials and produces zero emissions. Students then created their own innovative mobility vehicles using upcycled materials, combining hands-on learning with practical applications to inspire interest in STEAM subjects.

Hrag Hamalian, president of TGR Learning Labs and national programs, highlighted the benefits of this partnership. "Thanks to the partnership with Genesis, our students have an incredible opportunity to gain real-life learning experiences in a high demand industry," he said. The collaboration provides access to experienced professionals and hands-on projects that accelerate student knowledge and align passions with career opportunities.

TGR Foundation was established by Tiger Woods and his parents in 1996 to positively impact young people from under-resourced communities. The foundation aims to create inspiring spaces where students can pursue their passions through education. The flagship TGR Learning Lab in Anaheim has served over 200,000 students since 2006, focusing on STEAM enrichment, health, well-being, and career readiness.

The second TGR Learning Lab opened recently at Cobbs Creek Golf and Education Campus in West Philadelphia. Earlier this year, Genesis hosted a STEAM workshop and career day at the Anaheim lab for students interested in automotive careers. Genesis employees participated in a career panel discussing professions in product planning, design, quality, and engineering.
