Formula E Sets New Record For US Viewership With 10.5 Million At 2025 Mexico City E-Prix
The 2025 Hankook Mexico City E-Prix race achieved a remarkable viewership milestone in the United States. The event attracted an impressive 10.5 million cumulative viewers on CBS, marking the highest audience for any Formula E race broadcast in the US. This figure surpassed all but one Formula 1 race over the past two seasons, highlighting a growing interest in electric motorsports.
In Germany and France, viewership for the 2025 Hankook Mexico E-Prix increased by 65% and 64%, respectively, compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, Mexico saw a 10% rise in its audience numbers. These statistics reflect a robust and expanding global fanbase as Formula E enters its second decade of competition.

The opening round of Formula E Season 11 took place in São Paulo, Brazil, drawing an unprecedented TV audience of 40 million viewers. This marked the largest opening round viewership since the series began. In Brazil, it was also the second most-watched single race across all 11 seasons.
A new free-to-air broadcast agreement with ITV significantly boosted UK viewership for the São Paulo race by 120% compared to last season's equivalent event. This contributed to making it one of the most-watched races in Formula E's history.
Aarti Dabas, Chief Media Officer at Formula E, commented on this success: "This strong start to the 11th season, with our new and existing broadcast partnerships delivering record audiences in our key markets, is a testament to our accelerated fan growth and the exciting racing spectacle put on by our elite drivers in their new cutting edge GEN3 Evo cars."
Partnership with IMG
Formula E has entered into a multi-year agreement with IMG to manage and license its worldwide video archive rights. IMG will oversee more than 1,000 hours of footage on its digital platform, including races, qualifying sessions, pre-season testing, interviews, and behind-the-scenes content from Formula E's inception at Beijing Olympic Park in 2014.
Aarti Dabas further stated: "Formula E has always been pushing boundaries in technology, sustainability and fan engagement. Partnering with IMG to manage our extensive video archive ensures the incredible moments from the past decade of electric racing, as well as those to come, are preserved and made accessible to fans, partners, and storytellers worldwide."
