Formula Drift PRO And PROSPEC Championship Seeding Results From St Louis Highlight Key Drivers
The Formula DRIFT PRO Championship Round 5 and Link ECU PROSPEC Round 3 took place at the World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, IL, on July 17, 2025. The event featured intense competition as drivers vied for top positions in both the PRO and PROSPEC categories. The challenging conditions tested the skills of all participants.
In the Link ECU PROSPEC Championship, Ryan Kaufman emerged victorious in the Seeding Bracket with his Taxi Garage Mazda RX-7. He faced Matthew Bystrak in the final, where a collision forced Bystrak's Mustang into the dirt, causing a tire issue. Unable to replace it under regulations, Kaufman secured the win. Rookie Chellee Hansen finished third after a tough semi-final against Kaufman.
The championship locked in its first 20 spots based on Round 2 results. The remaining drivers competed for 12 places through tandem Seeding Bracket runs. Each heat victory awarded three points, with Kaufman earning 12 points for his final win. Notably, rookies have won all three Seeding Brackets this year.
Nick Noback triumphed in the Type S PRO Seeding Bracket driving his Kenda Tires / Noback Racing E46 BMW. Despite heavy rain creating difficult conditions, Noback managed to outperform Dan Burkett's RAD Industries Mk4 Toyota Supra in the final. Burkett's over-commitment led to contact and a spin-out, securing Noback's victory.
With only 11 drivers competing for 12 available spots, all participants qualified for the next round. However, they still aimed to improve their rankings for better matchups in the Top 32 competition heats. Rudy Hansen finished third, mirroring his wife Chellee Hansen's position in her bracket.

The next round of the FD PRO Championship will be held at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, WA on August 8-9. Meanwhile, the final round of the Link ECU PROSPEC Championship is scheduled for August 28-30 at Utah Motorsports Campus alongside FD PRO Round 7.
