First To The Finish: A New Docuseries Showcasing Female Racers In The MX-5 Cup Championship Premiering March 25
Prime Video has announced that "First to the Finish," a new docuseries, will premiere on March 25. This series, created with Boardwalk Pictures and GroupM Motion Entertainment, offers an exclusive look into the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Cup Championship. It follows two female racers and a female team owner as they navigate the challenges and triumphs of this thrilling racing series.
The series highlights the journey of three key figures in the championship: Shea Holbrook, Heather Hadley, and Sally Mott. Shea Holbrook, from Daytona, Florida, is the owner of BSI Racing. After stepping back from professional racing to start a family, she returns to lead her team in this competitive environment. Her determination has quickly made BSI Racing one of the largest teams in the paddock.

Heather Hadley is another central figure in the series. As a senior at UNC-Charlotte and a professional racecar driver, she balances her studies with her racing career. Her impressive rookie year in 2023 has set high expectations for her second season in the Mazda MX-5 Cup Championship.
Sally Mott, hailing from Crawford, Texas, enters the series as a passionate rookie. Winning a scholarship at the 2023 Mazda MX-5 Cup Shootout enabled her to secure sponsors for the 2024 season. Fresh out of high school, Sally is fully committed to making her mark in racing without any backup plan.
The docuseries provides an inside look at what it takes to compete in professional racing. It features interviews with drivers, pit crews, coaches, owners, and family members. The series captures both the preparation for each race and the excitement of competing in one of automotive racing's most thrilling championships.
Sarina Roma from Boardwalk Pictures shared insights about creating this series: "The Mazda MX-5 Cup gave us a rich backdrop for storytelling." She highlighted how access to passionate characters competing in such a high-stakes environment added depth to their narrative.
