Ferrari's 12Cilindri, Spider, And F80 Triumph At The 2025 Red Dot Awards
Ferrari has achieved a significant milestone by winning the top prize at the 2025 Red Dot Awards with three of its cars. The Ferrari 12Cilindri, Ferrari 12Cilindri Spider, and the F80 all received the prestigious Red Dot: Best of the Best in the Product Design category. This award recognises outstanding innovation and excellence in industrial design.
The Ferrari 12Cilindri and 12Cilindri Spider draw inspiration from classic Grand Tourers of the 50s and 60s. These front-engine V12 two-seaters combine elegance, versatility, and performance, embodying Ferrari's mission to elevate its heritage to new standards. Their design features simple yet harmonious lines with integrated active aerodynamics for superior performance.
Over the past decade, Ferrari has consistently excelled at the Red Dot Awards, securing 32 accolades since its inception in 1955. Notably, since 2015, Ferrari has been awarded 13 Red Dot: Best of the Best prizes. This achievement underscores the exceptional work of the Ferrari Styling Centre under Flavio Manzoni's leadership.
The F80 represents Maranello's sixth supercar iteration. It features a carbon-fibre chassis housing a hybrid power unit that delivers an impressive 1200 cv. The car's V6 engine is derived from the power unit that secured victories at Le Mans in both 2023 and 2024. The F80 is limited to just 799 units and will be produced until 2027.
The F80 incorporates advanced technology from Formula 1, including e-turbos that eliminate turbo lag by harnessing excess kinetic energy.
