Female Driver Program Strengthens Interest In Porsche Single-Make Racing Across North America

The Porsche Mobil 1 Female Driver Program North America supports female racers in the Porsche Carrera Cup and Sprint Challenge. It offers financial aid and motorsports training, with top performers receiving Yokohama tires for the next round. Sabré Cook, Madeline Stewart, and Ashley Freiberg are set to compete in the Carrera Cup, while four others participate in the Sprint Challenge.

Since its start in 2023, this program has been a key part of Porsche's one-make competitions. It provides a platform for female drivers to excel with backing from Porsche Motorsport North America (PMNA) and partners. The 2025 season will see Cook and Stewart return alongside newcomer Freiberg at Sebring International Raceway from March 12-14.

Volker Holzmeyer, President and CEO of Porsche Motorsport North America, expressed enthusiasm for continuing the program in 2025. He stated, "The success of the program has been proven by the return of Sabré and Madeline, as well as Ashley’s rise through the single-make pyramid." He wished all seven participating female drivers success this season.

The initiative aims to foster female talent by covering half of all entry fees throughout the season. Additionally, top-performing female drivers receive a complimentary set of Yokohama Tires for subsequent events. This support helps alleviate financial pressures while encouraging high performance levels.

Sabré Cook shared her gratitude for being part of the program since its inception. She noted how it has expanded support each year to include more women in Porsche championships across North America. "It’s incredible that they have expanded that support every year," she said.

Ashley Freiberg highlighted the importance of having major brands like Mobil 1, Porsche, and Yokohama backing female drivers. "Any amount of support is very helpful," she remarked. She emphasized her passion for increasing female representation in racing series.

Training Opportunities

The program also offers specialized workshops within PMNA's single-make framework. These sessions provide valuable training, education, and networking opportunities to advance participants' careers. All three drivers took part in pre-season testing at Sebring before starting their official season as part of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship paddock.

The 2025 calendar includes eight rounds with doubleheader race weekends; three coincide with Formula 1® World Championship events. The Porsche Sprint Challenge features classes for both Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars and Porsche 718 Cayman Clubsport GT4 RS across seven rounds.

Porsche's Racing Heritage

Madeline Stewart expressed her appreciation for being involved with such a renowned brand as Porsche. "I feel very lucky to be a part of it," she said. Stewart acknowledged how their support significantly contributes to getting her on track each season.

Cook and Stewart achieved multiple top-10 finishes last year and aim higher this season—a crucial step forward for them personally and within the program itself.
