European Spec Citroen eC3 Coming to India?- Check Details

French carmaker Citroen continues to face challenges in the Indian market. While some of its models offer strong value, comfort, and practicality, the brand failed to attract the mass market buyers. Citroen even entered the EV space with the eC3, but due to intense competition and value, the model has remained in the shadows for a long time.

Now, the company is reportedly preparing to introduce the European-spec eC3 in India. A testing model of this European version has already been spotted on Indian roads. It could be launched by 2026 as part of their 'Citroen 2.0- Shift into the New' strategy.

European Spec Citroen eC3 Specs & Features

The European version of the Citroen eC3 comes with two battery options: 44 and 30 kWh. The larger battery pack offers a maximum range of 320 Km on a single charge. It can be charged from 20-80% in just 26 minutes using a 100kW fast charger.

On the outside, it features 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, 3D LED taillights, Sleek LED headlamps, two-tone roofs, and Running Daytime LED DRLs. The eC3 electric car is sold in six different colour options.

The Indian variant comes with only a 29.2 kWh battery pack, which offers a range of up to 246 Km on a single charge. It produces a maximum power of 57 kW and 143 Nm of torque. Using a DC fast charger, it can charge from (10-80%) in just 57 minutes.

European Spec Citroen eC3

We would welcome Citroën bringing the European-spec eC3 to India, as the EV segment still has plenty of room to grow. The small EV category, in particular, has very few competitors, with only Tata and MG offering models under ₹15 lakh.

With its larger battery, better range, and enhanced features, the European-spec eC3 has the potential to be a real game-changer in the small EV segment. With an aggressive price, it could replicate the MG Windsor's success in the budget EV segment.
