Dodge And Tony Stewart Racing Announce Multi-Year Partnership Extension In NHRA Mission Drag Racing Series
Dodge//SRT and Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) have renewed their partnership for multiple years to compete in the NHRA Mission Drag Racing Series. This collaboration involves entries in both Top Fuel and Funny Car categories. The announcement was made at the NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, Florida. Dodge CEO Matt McAlear expressed enthusiasm about working with TSR, highlighting the involvement of drivers Tony Stewart and Matt Hagan.
"Working with an elite, championship-caliber team like Tony Stewart Racing brings Dodge and Direct Connection to the forefront at each of the NHRA’s 20 national events, especially with legendary drivers like Tony Stewart and Matt Hagan behind the wheel of our Dodge//SRT Direct Connection Top Fuel dragster and Funny Car, respectively," said Matt McAlear, Dodge CEO. "Dodge’s celebrated legacy in NHRA competition dates back more than 60 years and, as a result of this new multi-year partnership, our brand and our fans are looking forward to celebrating in the winner’s circle with Tony, Matt, Leah and the entire TSR organization for years to come."
Since partnering with TSR in 2022, Dodge has achieved significant success. The team has secured 16 NHRA national event wins. Notably, driver Matt Hagan clinched the 2023 NHRA Mission World Funny Car Championship driving a TSR Direct Connection Dodge//SRT Hellcat. Hagan boasts 52 NHRA national event victories and four World Championships.
Hagan's achievements include being one of only four Funny Car drivers to win four championships. He also set records by breaking time barriers on the drag strip. His career highlights include being the first to run under four seconds in 2011 and reaching speeds over 330 mph by 2016.
Tony Stewart transitioned from NASCAR to NHRA racing in recent years. In his first season driving the TSR Direct Connection Dodge//SRT Top Fuel dragster, he earned NHRA Rookie of the Year honors. Stewart finished ninth in the final standings for Top Fuel points last year.
Stewart's popularity is evident at events where fans line up for autographs at TSR's pit area. He appreciates having partners like Dodge//SRT supporting their efforts in motorsports. "To have racing partners like Dodge//SRT, Mopar and Direct Connection has been a great asset for our TSR team," said Stewart.
Leah Pruett's Continued Involvement
Leah Pruett remains active within TSR despite stepping away from driving duties last year. She focuses on sponsorships, coaching, and team strategies while maintaining her long-standing relationship with Dodge and Mopar since 2016.
Pruett expressed excitement about extending their partnership with Dodge//SRT: "I have held Dodge, Mopar and Direct Connection close to my heart for many years." She emphasized their commitment to achieving on-track success alongside engaging fans through this collaboration.

The new fan engagement initiative by Dodge allows enthusiasts to vote on car graphics for Stewart's Top Fuel dragster and Hagan's Funny Car during U.S Nationals later this year. Voting takes place online at dodgegarage.com or via Instagram until June 2nd.
This interactive experience aims to involve fans more closely with their favourite racers' vehicles while showcasing different design options available through voting platforms both online or at live events across various locations nationwide.
