The 2025 MotorWeek Drivers’ Choice Awards have recognised the Dodge Charger Daytona and Ram 1500 as top contenders. The Charger Daytona was named Best Sport Coupe, while the Ram 1500 secured the Best Fullsize Truck title. These awards highlight the vehicles' innovative features and performance in their respective categories.
The Dodge Charger Daytona marks a new era for Dodge muscle cars, now available at dealerships. It is part of a diverse lineup that includes both electric and gas-powered models. The Charger Daytona Scat Pack boasts impressive performance, achieving 0-60 mph in just 3.3 seconds with 670 horsepower.
MotorWeek has been evaluating vehicles for over four decades, assessing more than 150 new cars and trucks annually. Their selection process involves driving tests, research, and instrumented evaluations to determine the best vehicles in various categories. The awards reflect current consumer trends and standout features.
John Davis, creator and host of MotorWeek, stated, "The Dodge Charger Daytona is our choice as Best Sport Coupe of the year, the first time an all-electric model has risen to that honor." He praised its design and performance, noting its ability to maintain traditional muscle car appeal despite its electric propulsion.
The Ram 1500 has undergone significant redesigns, featuring a luxurious interior and advanced technology. It offers two new Hurricane engines with best-in-class six-cylinder horsepower. The truck can be equipped with features like a 23-speaker sound system and quilted leather seats.
According to John Davis, "Our Best Fullsize Truck award goes to the redesigned Ram 1500." He highlighted its innovative features such as RamBox cargo storage and advanced towing capabilities. The truck combines ruggedness with refinement, making it versatile for various roles.
