Production-Spec DeTomaso P72 Supercar Revealed - The Return Of An Italian Icon
After years of anticipation and amidst challenges posed by global events, the DeTomaso P72 supercar is finally transitioning from concept to reality, with the first batch set to reach its eager owners by Christmas 2025. The DeTomaso P72 was first unveiled in concept form at the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The heart of the DeTomaso P72 is a testament to the brand's roots, incorporating American muscle into its core with a supercharged 5.0-litre Ford V8 engine tuned by Roush. This engine generates 700bhp and 800Nm of torque, giving the 1,400kg Italian supercar a power to weight ratio of 500bhp/tonne. The P72, sports a six-speed manual transmission.
