Dakar 2025 Stage 9 Results: KTM's Luciano Benavides Wins Again As Dacia & Nasser Al-Attiyah Create History
Stage 9 of the 47th edition of the Dakar rally saw competitors travel from the Saudi Arabian capital city of Riyadh to Harardh. KTM's Luciano Benavides claimed his second stage win on the trot while Nasser Al Attiyah took home a historic first stage win for Dacia.
Today's win saw KTM equal its best tally of stage wins on a Dakar Rally of 7 wins from the 2018 edition, while Romanian manufacturer Dacia claimed its first-ever stage win at Dakar. It was also a historic day for Al-Attiyah as he claimed a stage win at Dakar for his 16th consecutive rally.

Dakar 2025 Stage 9 Results: Bikes
KTM's Argentinian maestro Luciano Benavides claimed his second stage win in a row at Dakar 2025 to take his overall tally to 5. The KTM rider finished the stage in 03:15:38 which included 04:51 in time bonuses to win his second consecutive stage at Dakar 2025.
Honda's French rider Adrien Van Beveren ended the day, 01:54 behind the KTM of Benavides. The final podium spot was claimed by Dakar 2025 overall leader Daniel Sanders, with the Aussie rider ending the day 03:04 adrift of his teammate from Argentina.

The American duo of defending champion Ricky Brabec and the moustachioed maverick Skyker Howe ended the day in 4th ( 03:39 behind) and 5th place (04:40 behind) respectively. Hero's Nacho Cornejo ended the day in 6th place, just 04:55 off the pace set by Benavides.
Honda's Spanish rider Toscha Schareina ended the day in 7th place, 06:46 behind Benavides despite falling off his bike spectacularly early in the stage. Spain's Edgar Canet was the fastest of the Rally 2 riders (10:38 behind) in 8th and was followed on the time sheets by Mathieu Doveze another Rally 2 rider (12:18 behind). Sherco's Luciano Santolino ended the day in 10th place, 14:45 behind Benavides.

In the general standings, KTM's Daniel Sanders has extended his lead over Toscha Schareina to 14:45 as he has now covered 10 stages (9 stages and the prologue) in 47:45:34. France's Honda rider, Adrien Van Beveren is in 3rd place, 20:21 behind Sanders.
Luciano Benavides is in 4th place (27:44 off the pace) while defending champion Ricky Brabec is in 5th place, 31:31 behind. The sole remaining Hero of Nacho Cornejo is in 7th place, 55:23 behind Sanders.

Dakar 2025 Stage 9 Results: Cars
In the cars category, 5-time Dakar Rally champion Nasser Al Attiyah won his first stage in a Dakar Sandrider blitzing the Saudi Arabian sands as he finished the 357km special stage in 02:52:59.

Mini's Guillaume De Mevius ended today's stage in 2nd place, the Belgian driver ending the special 02:47 behind Al Attiyah. The final podium spot was claimed by Overdrive Racing's Yazeed Al Rajhi, who ended the stage 03:12 behind Al Attiyah.
Ford's Mattias Ekstrom was 04:48 behind Al Attiyah in 4th place while Toyota's Rokas Baciuska claimed 5th place, ending the stage 07:28 off the pace set by the Dacia of Al Attiyah.

In the overall standings, Saudi Arabia's Yazeed Al Rajhi now leads Dakar 2025 with a time of 45:06:54. The Overdrive Racing driver leads Toyota's Henk Lategan, who had a torrid day in the sands after getting lost just 13km into the stage.
Ford's Mattias Ekstrom is in 3rd place in his Raptor. The Swedish driver is 24:50 behind the Al Rajhi but is just 31 seconds ahead of today's winner Nasser Al Attiyah. Ford's Mitchell Guthrie rounds off the top 5 with a time of 46:03:22. The American driver is 56:28 behind Al Rajhi in the overall standings.
