Dakar 2025 Stage 6 Results: Honda's Ricky Brabec & Mini's Guillaume De Mevius Win As Branch Crashes Out

Stage 6 of the 47th edition of the Dakar rally saw competitors head from Hail to Al Duwadimi, covering a total of 829km, including a 605km special stage. Honda's Ricky Brabec and X-Raid Mini's Guillaume De Mevius claimed victory.

During the rest day, Honda's Adrien Van Beveren got back his stage win for Stage 5 after his appeal against the speeding penalties was upheld. That appeal victory also saw him climb onto the podium in the general standings.

Today's stage saw the riders head south into the Saudi Arabian sands to kick off the second week of the 2025 Dakar Rally. At the end of the stage, defending champion Honda's Ricky Brabec surged ahead to claim the win. The American rider finished the stage in 05:00:51, ending the stage just 23 seconds ahead of his Honda teammate, Stage 5 winner, Adrien Van Beveren.

The final podium spot was claimed by Hero's Nacho Cornejo, with the Chilean ending the day, 51 seconds off the pace set by Brabec. The Chilean is the last remaining Hero rider at Dakar 2025 after Ross Branch crashed out early into today's stage.

Fourth place today was claimed by Honda's Spanish rider Toscha Schareina, who ended the day 02:27 behind his American teammate. The final spot in the Top 5 was claimed by KTM's Luciano Benavides, with the Argentinian rider ending the day, 03:36 behind Brabec's Honda.

In the overall standing, KTM's Daniel Sanders still leads Dakar 2025 with a time of 35:18:49. The Aussie rider ended today's stage in 7th place, 05:43 off the pace set by Brabec and now leads the general standings by just 11:46 from Honda's Toscha Schareina.

The final podium spot is currently claimed by France Adrien Van Beveren with the Honda rider now 19:11 behind Sanders. Today's winner and defending Champion Ricky Brabec is now in 4th place, 23:18 behind his Australian rival.

Honda's Skyler Howes is in 5th place, 27:25 behind Sanders with KTM's Luciano Benavides in 6th, 30:08 off the pace. Honda's Pablo Quintanilla is in 7th place, 40:52 behind Sanders while the last remaining Hero rider, Nacho Cornejo is in 8th place, 44:39 behind Sanders.

The final two spots in the top 10 of the General standings is currently claimed by Sherco's Lorenzo Santolino. The Spanish rider trails Sanders by 01:09:28. KTM's Edgar Canet leads Rally 2 and is in 10th overall, 01:16:59 behind Sanders.

In the cars category, the X-Raid Mini team and Dacia's Nasser Al Alttiyah finally put an end to Toyota's podium dominance at Dakar 2025. Mini's Belgian driver Guillaume De Mevius was the fastest across the Saudi Arabian sands ending the stage in 04:34:49.

The Belgian ended the stage just 01:34 ahead of his Portuguese teammate, Joao Ferreira and 02:01 ahead of 5-time Dakar winner Qatar's Nasser Al-Attiyah in his Dacia Sandrider. Toyota's Guy David Botterill ended the day in 4th place, 03:25 behind De Mevius and 10 seconds ahead of Overdrive Racing's Yazeed Al Rajhi.

Toyota's Henk Lategan, who finished today's stage in 7th place, continues to lead the general standing after Stag6. The South African driver is now just 07:16 ahead of local driver Yazeed Al Rajhi. Third place in the general rankings is still in the hands of Ford's Mattias Ekstrom (8th today) with the Swede now 22:27 behind Lategan's Toyota.

Fourth place is still held by Nasser Al-Attiyah, and the five-time Dakar champion has just 6 more stages in hand to overhaul the 30:25 second deficit to Lategan if he wants to claim another overall victory at the Dakar. Ford's Mitchell Guthrie, driving for the first time in the Ultimate Class, is in 5th place, 50:16 behind the Lategan's Toyota Hilux after 7 stages of Racing (6+Prologue).
