Dakar 2025 Stage 4 Results: KTM's Daniel Sanders & Overdrive's Yazeed Al Rajhi Win Again As Loeb Checks Out
Stage 4 of the 47th edition of the Dakar rally saw competitors head across the sands of Saudi Arabia from Al Henakiyah to Alula, covering a total of 588km (including a 415km special). KTM's Daniel Sanders and Overdrive's Yazeed Al Rajhi emerged as the winners today.
There was action before the start of the day's racing as 9-time WRC champion Sebastien Loeb was told his Dakar Rally was over as his Dacia Sandrider was found to be structurally unfit to continue.

It was a familiar face who emerged on top again as Australia's Daniel Sanders blasted across the stage faster than everyone else to claim the top spot once again after a forgettable day yesterday.
Sanders completed the special stage in 05:10:33 as he strengthened his position at the top of the general classification as his main rivals all stumbled today. Second place today was claimed by Spain's Tosha Schareina as the Honda rider kept pace with Sanders throughout the stage, ending the day only 15 seconds behind the Aussie.

Chile's Nacho Cornejo was the fastest Hero rider today as he finished the stage in 05:18:22, 07:49 behind Sanders. Honda's Adrien Van Beveren ended the day in 4th place. The French Dakar veteran was 08:08 off the pace while Sherco's Rui Goncalves was another 47 seconds behind in 5th.
Hero's Ross Branch was keeping up with Sanders and the others for most of the day but a big mistake with the finish line just 20km away saw him end up 19:11 behind Sanders for the day.

In the general standings, KTM's Daniel Sanders leads Dakar 2025 in the bikes category with a time of 25:15:33. Honda's Tosha Schareina has climbed into 2nd place and is now 13:26 behind the Aussie on the KTM. Hero's Ross Branch is still in third place, but the Ferrari of the Kalahari is now 26:10 behind his Aussie rival (the other Hero rider, Nacho Cornejo is 9th overall, 54:01 behind).
Honda's Skyler Howes sits in 4th place. The moustachioed American finished in 17th place and now sits 27:01 behind Sanders. Defending champion Ricky Brabec, who ended today's stage in 15th place is still in 5th place, but is 29:13 behind Sanders in the overall standings.

Dakar 2025 Stage 4 Results - Cars
Saudi Arabia's Yazeed Al Rajhi, delighted the home fans once again as he brought home his Overdrive Racing Toyota Hilux across the line Alula in the fastest time of the day (his second win of Dakar 2025). Al Rajhi finished today's special stage with a time of 04:26:40.
Coming home in second place today was current overall standings leader Henk Lategan. The South African Toyota driver managed to keep the damage done by the rampaging Al Rajhi to as little as possible, finishing the day 04:51 behind his Saudi rival.

The final podium spot available today was taken by Juan Yacopini. The Argentinian Overdrive racing driver ended the 415km special, 10:45 behind his teammate from Saudi Arabia.
Czech driver Martin Prokop took fourth place in his Orlen Jipocar Ford Raptor (10:55 behind) while Krygz driver Denis Krotov claimed 5th place in his X-Raid Mini.

In the overall standings, Henk Lategan leads Dakar 2025 with a time of 23:36:24. Yazeed Al Rajhi is in second place and is just 06:54 behind his Swedish rival. The final podium spot in the cars category is held by Ford's Mattias Ekstrom (21:40 behind).
Century Racing's Mathieu Serradori is in fourth place., The Frenchman is currently 30:25 behind Lategan. The top 5 is rounded off by Lucas Moraes, with the Toyota factory driver from Brazil, 33:25 off the pace set by Lategan.
Pre-race favourite, 5-time Dakar champion Nasser Al-Attiyah, who ended the day in 17th place following a flat tyre that saw him lose nearly half an hour to Lategan today, lies in 7th place in the overall standings. The Dacia driver from Qatar is 35:53 behind the race leader.
