Dakar 2025 Stage 11 Results: Honda's Toscha Schareina & Ford's Mattias Ekstrom Win Empty Quarter Loop
Stage 11 of the 47th edition of the Dakar rally saw competitors travel in a loop around the town of Shubaytah. Honda's Toscha Schareina claimed the win in the bikes category while Ford's Mattias Ekstrom claimed victory in the cars category.
The start of the penultimate stage of Dakar 2025 was delayed due to fog grounding the support helicopters. Those on the bikes covered a total of 384km, including a 152km long timed special stage across the Saudi Arabian sands. Those in the cars covered a total of 507km in the Empty Quarter, which included a 275km long special stage.

Honda's Tony Schareina finally claimed a stage win at Dakar 2025. The Spanish rider finished today's special stage in 02:12:04, just 33 seconds ahead of KTM's Luciano Benavides. The final podium spot was claimed by Honda's Adrien Van Beveren who ended the day just 57 seconds behind his Spanish teammate.

Taking fourth place today was defending Dakar champion Ricky Brabec. The American rider ended the day, 03:48 behind his teammate from Spain. Hero's Nacho Cornejo, claimed the final spot in the top 5 today, ending the stage, 06:02 adrift of Schareina's time across the Empty Quarter.
In the General standings, KTM's Daniel Sanders continues to lead Dakar 2025, despite losing over seven and a half minutes to today's stage winner. Sanders leads Dakar 2025 with a time of 52:13:34.

Honda's Toscha Schareina is now just 9 minutes behind Sanders but is not expected to win the race unless a miracle happens as tomorrow's final stage is expected to be mostly processional. The final podium spot is occupied by Adrien Van Beveren, the French Honda rider 15:50 adrift of Sanders.
Luciano Benavides is in 4th place, the KTM rider from Argentina is 22:16 behind his Aussie teammate after 11 rounds in the dunes. Last year's winner, Honda's Ricky Brabec is in 5th place, 28:35 behind his likely Aussie successor to the Dakar throne.
Skyler Howes is in 6th place, the American Honda rider is 41:29 behind the overall leader, while Hero's Nacho Cornejo is the last of the riders less than an hour (56:59) behind the KTM ridden by Sanders.

Dakar 2025 Stage 11 Results: Cars
In the cars category, Ford's Mattias Ekstrom brought home his Raptor in first place after a brutal sojourn across the desolate sand dunes of the Empty Quarter. Ekstrom ended the special stage with a time of 04:19:27, finishing just 41 seconds ahead of Dacia's Nasser Al Attiyah.

The final podium spot on offer in today's stage was claimed by Overdrive Racing's Yazeed Al Rajhi. The Saudi Arabian driver finished just 01:47 behind Ekstrom's Raptor as he reclaimed the overall lead of Dakar 2025.
Ford's Mitchell Guthrie claimed 4th place in today's round ending the day 09:33 behind his Swedish teammate. The final spot in the top 5 was taken by Toyota's Henk Lategan, who ended the day 10:23 behind the Raptor of Ekstrom.

In the general standings, Saudi Arabia's own Yazeed Al Rajhi sits atop the standings with a time of 51:53:36. The Overdrive Racing driver, overhauled the nearly two and half minute deficit to Lategan and ended the day, 06:11 ahead of his Swedish rival.
Todaý's winner Mattias Ekstrom strengthened his grip on third place and now sits 22:34 behind Al Rajhi. 5-time Dakar winner Nasser Al Attiyah is in 4th overall, the Qatari driver 26:50 behind Al Rajhi. The final spot in the top 5 is held by Ford's Mitchell Guthrie, who is 59:26 behind Al Rajhi.
