Dakar 2025 Stage 10 Results: Rally 2 Rider Michael Docherty & Nani Roma Claims Historic Victories In The Empty
Stage 10 of the 47th edition of the Dakar rally saw competitors travel from Harardh to Shubaytah. BAS World KTM's Michael Docherty claimed the win in the bikes category on his Rally 2 machine while Ford's Nani Roma claimed victory in the cars category.
Today the competitors in Dakar 2025 headed into the Empty Quarter, one of the most desolate places in the world. While the bikes covered a total of 635km, those in the cars covered an extra five kilometres, however, both two and four-wheelers competed across a 120km timed special stage today as they traversed across the sands of the Saudi Arabian desert.

Dakar 2025 Stage 10 Results: Bikes
BAS World KTM's Michael Docherty became the first Rally 2 rider since 2017 (when the Dakar raced in South America) to win a stage at the Dakar. Docherty who finished the stage with a time of 02:00:03, also became the first South African rider to win a Dakar stage since Alfie Cox won in 2003.
In second place today was Sherco Racing's Rui Goncalves, who ended the stage 01:20 off the pace set by the South African. Docherty's Austrian teammate Tobias Ebster made it two Rally 2 riders on the podium as he finished in third place, 02:21 behind the South African rider.

Slovakian rider Stefan Svitko claimed fourth place today, finishing the special in 02:05:13 (05:10 behind) astride his Slovnaft Racing KTM Rally 2 bike. KTM's own Rally 2 revelation Edgar Canet ended the day in 5th place, 05:34 behind.
'The highest ranked Honda racer today was the USA's Skyler Howes who ended the day in 6th place, 05:59 off the pace. In 7th place was Hoto's Arūnas Gelažninkas, the Lithuanian finishing 06:59 behind Docherty.
The final three places in the top 10 were all claimed by Rally 2 riders with Espirit KTM's Benjamin Melot in 8th (07:33 behind) and BAS World KTM's Mathieu Doveze and Toni Mulec claiming 9th (07:42 behind) and 10th place (08:13 behind) respectively which meant that 7 out of the top 10 finishers today were Rally 2 riders. Hero's Nacho Cornejo finished the stage in 23rd place, 11:27 behind the winning Rally 2 KTM.

In the general rankings, KTM's Daniel Sanders continues to lead the riders at Dakar 2025. The Aussie rider who ended the day in 11th place is the fastest rider at this year's Dakar after 10 rounds with a time of 49:53:59.
The Australian now leads Honda's Toscha Shareina (who ended the day in 17th place, by 16:31. Honda's French legend Adrien Van Beveren is in 3rd place, 22:24 behind Sanders. The winner of the previous two stages Luciano Benavides is in 4th place, 29:14 off the pace set by his Aussie teammate.

Fifth place is occupied by defending Dakar Champion Ricky Brabec. The American has no chance of defending his Dakar crown unless an absolute miracle happens in the dunes and is 32:18 behind Sanders. Honda's Skyler Howes is in 6th place, 36:16 behind KTM's Sanders while Hero's Nacho Cornejo is the final rider who isn't more than an hour behind Sanders. The Chilean rider is 58:28 behind Sanders.
Dakar 2025 Stage 10 Results: Cars

In the cars category, Nani Roma claimed his first win at the Dakar since the 2025 edition of the world's toughest rally. Roma's win today was also the first win at Dakar for Ford. The Spanish driver ended the 120km special stage with a time of 02:06:34, ending the day, just 18 seconds ahead of Toyota's Lucas Moraes.
Third place today was claimed by Saudi Arabian driver Dania Akeel, the fastest of all the Challenger class drivers today. Akeel became just the 4th woman after Jutta Kleinschmidt (who won the Rally in 2001), Cristina Gutiérrez and Sara Price to claim a class win on a Dakar Rally Stage. Akeel ended the day, just 01:40 behind Roma.

Century Racing's Brian Baragwanath ended the day in 4th place, 02:21 behind Nani's Ford Raptor. Can-Am Factory team driver "Chaleco" López was the fastest of the drivers in the Side-by-Side Class, the Chilean ending 5th overall today, 04:11 behind Roma.
Toyota's Henk Lategan once again tops the general standings after 10 rounds of this year's Dakar Rally with a time of 47:29:57. The South African driver hit the jackpot today, reversing his over 7-minute deficit to Yazeed Al Rajhi as he opened up a 02:27 lead over the Saudi Overdrive racing driver.

The final podium spot is still in the hands of Ford's Mattias Ekstrom, the Swede now 26:46 behind Lategan. 5-time Dakar winner, Nasser Al-Attiyah, who got lost 9km into the special stage and ended up in 61st place (21:29 behind the stage winner) is 30:21 behind Lategan's Toyota. The final spot in the top 5 is the domain of Ford's Mitchell Guthrie, the American 54:05 off the pace set by Lategan.
