Top Things About The Citroen C3 CNG
Citroen India has introduced a CNG variant of its C3 hatchback, available as a retrofit option. This new offering is designed to cater to the growing demand for more fuel-efficient vehicles in the Indian market. Here are some key details about this latest addition.
The retrofitted CNG kit for the Citroen C3 is priced at an additional Rs 93,000. Customers can purchase this kit from any authorised Citroen dealership across India. This cost is applicable uniformly, ensuring transparency for potential buyers.

Factory-Tested and Calibrated
Citroen assures that the Lovato CNG kit has undergone factory testing and calibration. This process aims to maintain a smooth driving experience while optimising fuel efficiency. The company emphasises that these measures ensure the vehicle's performance remains uncompromised.
The claimed mileage for the C3 with the CNG kit is 28.1 km/kg. Although this figure is not independently verified, it suggests a running cost of approximately Rs. 2.66 per kilometre. This efficiency could appeal to budget-conscious consumers looking for economical travel options.
Warranty and Mechanical Adjustments
A three-year or 1,00,000 km warranty backs the standalone CNG kit, provided by Citroen dealers. This warranty offers peace of mind to customers who opt for this retrofitment, ensuring support in case of any issues.
The integration of the new CNG system does not affect boot space or access to the spare wheel in the Citroen C3. The carmaker has cleverly integrated the CNG nozzle within the petrol filler port for added convenience. Additionally, rear shock absorbers have been specially tuned with reinforced springs and an anti-roll bar to accommodate the new system.
Engine Compatibility and Variants
This retrofitment is compatible exclusively with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine of the Citroen C3 hatchback. It is available across four variants: Live, Feel, Feel (O), and Shine. These options provide flexibility for customers based on their preferences and requirements.
DriveSpark Thinks
