Citroen C3 Dark Edition Launched In India: Prices Start At Rs 8.38 Lakh
Citroen has recently launched the C3 Dark Edition in India, with a price tag starting at Rs 8.38 lakh (ex-showroom). This new edition is an extension of the C3 hatchback's Shine trim, designed especially for "young, style-conscious buyers," featuring a range of blacked-out design elements.
The vehicle is available in three variants, with prices going up to Rs 10.19 lakh for the top variant. The Dark Edition distinguishes itself with its Perla Nera Black paint and dark chrome accents, tailored for those who prefer their vehicles to exhibit a bit of edge and personality.

The C3 Dark Edition is not just about external aesthetics; its interior also gets a dark makeover. The cabin boasts a carbon-black finish across the dashboard, steering wheel, seats, and centre console, complemented by Lava Red stitching that adds a sporty touch. Other interior enhancements include leatherette seats, ambient and footwell lighting, illuminated sill plates, and a leatherette-wrapped instrument panel. These features aim to offer a more premium and immersive driving experience.
Apart from its stylish dark theme, the C3 Dark Edition retains the mechanical specifications of the standard Shine variants. It comes equipped with two engine options: a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that delivers 82hp and 115Nm of torque, and a more powerful 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 110hp and up to 205Nm of torque. Depending on the variant, the engines are paired with either a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, providing options for different driving preferences.

New Features and E20 Compliance
In tandem with the launch of the Dark Edition, Citroen has also expanded the C3's lineup by introducing the Feel trim. This new addition comes with features like remote keyless entry, powered windows, LED daytime running lights, and two front airbags, positioning it between the base Live and mid-spec Feel(O) trims. Additionally, the Feel(O) trim has been upgraded to include turn indicators on the wing mirrors and adjustable headrests for the front seats, while the Shine variant now offers a new black paint option.
Another significant update is the C3's compliance with E20 fuel regulations, which mandate a blend of 20% ethanol and 80% petrol. This move aligns with the government's efforts to promote the use of cleaner fuels. Moreover, all C3 variants now feature a larger 45-litre fuel tank, enhancing the car's range and convenience for longer journeys.
The introduction of the Citroen C3 Dark Edition and the expansion of the C3 lineup underscore Citroen's commitment to catering to diverse customer preferences in India. The range of new features, coupled with E20 compliance, positions the C3 as a competitive option in the hatchback segment. With its stylish design, enhanced features, and commitment to sustainability, the C3 is set to appeal to a wide array of buyers looking for a car that combines aesthetics with performance and eco-friendliness.
