Citroen C3 CNG Launched - Costs Rs 93,000 Extra
The Citroen C3 has been launched with a dealer-fitted CNG kit option. The introduction of a dealer-level CNG kit raises the price of the Citroen C3 by Rs 93,000 to Rs 7.16 lakh (ex-showroom). This move by Citroen India aligns with the growing demand for cleaner fuel options and the expansion of CNG infrastructure across the country.
The C3 CNG variant is powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine. When running on petrol, it generates 82hp and 115Nm. Although specific performance figures for the C3 when running on CNG have not been disclosed, the car boasts an impressive ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 28.1km/kg. The Citroen C3 comes Equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission. Citroen has upgraded the rear suspension of the CNG variant to ensure that ride quality remains consistent with the petrol version.

To facilitate the CNG kit installation, Citroen India has partnered with Lovato, a renowned name in the CNG kit sector. The kit includes a single cylinder with a 55-litre water equivalent capacity, allowing for a range of 170-200km on a full tank. This collaboration ensures that Citroen C3 owners can reliably convert their vehicles to CNG without compromising on performance or safety.
The Citroen C3 CNG is available in four different trim levels - Live, Feel, Feel(O), and Shine. Prices vary from Rs 7.16 lakh to Rs 9.24 lakh, ex-showroom, India. Citroen is offering a 3-year/1 lakh km warranty on the CNG version of the C3, which is the same as the one offered with the C3 petrol model. The Citroen C3 CNG finds itself priced slightly higher than the Maruti Wagon R, but it is less expensive than both the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter. This pricing strategy places the Citroen C3 CNG as a compelling option for those looking to transition to a cleaner fuel without breaking the bank.
Kumar Priyesh, Business Head & Director – Automotive Brands, Stellantis India, highlighted the significance of the C3 CNG's launch in response to the expanding CNG infrastructure in India. This statement underscores Citroen India's commitment to participating actively in the country's shift towards more sustainable fuel options.
The introduction of the Citroen C3 CNG is a strategic move by Citroen India to cater to the growing demand for more environmentally friendly vehicles. By combining the practicality of a hatchback with the efficiency of a CNG powertrain, Citroen offers a compelling package for Indian consumers. As the CNG infrastructure continues to develop across the nation, the Citroen C3 CNG is set to play a significant role in the transition towards cleaner automotive fuels.
