The exterior of the Basalt X is a familiar sight, carrying forward the coupe-SUV shape with its muscular wheel arches, sculpted bonnet, and sloping roofline. The only new identifier is the 'X' badge on the tailgate, which distinguishes the Basalt X from the version of the car before it..
Inside, the Basalt X brings more refinement compared to the regular trims. The dashboard design has been refreshed with bronze accents, while the tan-and-black dual-tone upholstery adds contrast. Leatherette inserts on key surfaces improve the tactile feel, creating a more premium atmosphere without altering the overall architecture.

Equipment highlights set the Basalt X Max apart from the lower variants. The top-spec Basalt X receives ventilated seats, cruise control, ambient lighting, and an auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror. The keyless entry system with push-button start is joined by a 360-degree camera and Citroën's new "Cara" voice assistant for improved functionality.
Standard safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX child seat mounts. Higher-spec variants expand the list with electronic stability control, hill-start assist, and a surround-view monitor, catering to urban driving and highway use.

Powertrain choices remain consistent with the existing Basalt lineup. The entry-level variant comes with an 82hp, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. Higher variants feature a 110hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, available with six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission options.
