Citroen Announces Upgrades For C3 Lineup & Massive Dealer Network Expansion

Citroen India is poised to make significant updates to its C3, Aircross, and Basalt models, incorporating aesthetic enhancements and additional features. This move comes as part of a broader initiative, dubbed the "Citroen 2.0 - Shift Into New" strategy, aimed at revitalizing the brand's presence and increasing its market share in India.

The Citroen 2.0 strategy outlines an ambitious plan to overhaul the company's approach in India, focusing on local innovation, improved connectivity, and upgraded interiors to align with customer expectations. Among the anticipated enhancements are a 360-degree camera, automatic headlights and wipers, as well as cruise control. These upgrades are part of Citroen's commitment to offering vehicles that meet the evolving demands of Indian consumers.

Expanding Citroen's Reach in India

Further to the product enhancements, Citroen is addressing its limited sales and aftersales network, which is seen as a crucial area for improvement. The company plans to significantly expand its dealership footprint to 150 locations by the end of 2025, with a particular focus on reaching customers in Tier 2, 3, and 4 cities.

This expansion strategy aims to make Citroen sales and service points accessible within 100 km for every customer across India, marking a significant step towards increasing the brand's penetration in semi-urban and rural areas.

Citroen has already made a substantial investment of Rs 5,300 Cr in manufacturing, R&D, and market capabilities in India. With these efforts, the company is striving to increase its market share beyond the current 0.14%, envisioning a future where it holds a more significant stake in the Indian automotive market.

Commitment to the Indian Market

Shailesh Hazela, CEO & MD of Stellantis India, emphasized the strategic importance of the Indian market to the company. Hazela stated, "India represents one of the most exciting and demanding opportunities for Stellantis globally and our Citroën 2.0 – Shift Into the New strategic plan is a decisive step forward in our commitment to India. We're aligning closer than ever with Indian customers through locally engineered products, deeper network reach, and a relentless focus on quality and customer centricity. This is not about quick wins—it's about sustainable growth, built on trust and long-term value. With high localisation, strong after-sales systems, newer ways of customer engagement and a sharp understanding of evolving expectations, we're here to grow with India and for India."
