Chrysler Commemorates Two Decades Of Stow 'n Go Seating With Challenge At 2025 Detroit Auto Show

Chrysler is commemorating 20 years of its Stow ‘n Go seating and storage system, a feature that has provided families with ample space for adventures. This celebration coincides with the launch of the Stow ‘n Go Challenge at the 2025 Detroit Auto Show from January 10-20. Since its introduction in 2005, over 5 million minivans have been sold with this innovative system.

The Stow ‘n Go system allows second- and third-row seats to fold flat into the floor, offering easy access to in-floor bins when not stowed. This feature remains exclusive to Chrysler minivans, providing more than 140 cubic feet of interior space when seats are folded. The 2025 Chrysler Pacifica continues to lead its class in seating and storage innovation.

Chris Feuell, CEO of Chrysler brand, stated, "Chrysler brand will mark its 100th anniversary in 2025, and that Century of Innovation has been driven by decades of leadership in design, technology and capability." The Stow ‘n Go seating is just one example of Chrysler's long list of innovations aimed at enhancing customer experience.

The Stow ‘n Go Challenge will be featured at various auto show events throughout the year. Participants will compete to see how quickly they can store road-trip gear in a Stow ‘n Go-equipped 2025 Chrysler Pacifica Family Adventure Vehicle (FAV) Edition. This challenge highlights the practicality and ease of use that the system offers.

The concept for Stow ‘n Go was first pitched to Chrysler leadership in 2002. By 2003, prototype and production tooling began at the Windsor Assembly Plant. The feature debuted in Chrysler minivans for the 2005 model year. An updated version with a "single action" folding mechanism was introduced in 2011, making it even easier to use.

In terms of configuration flexibility, the gas-powered Chrysler Pacifica offers up to 243 different seating arrangements. The Stow ‘n Go system remains a standout feature for Chrysler’s minivan lineup as it continues to be unique within its class.

Chrysler's Electrification Journey

Chrysler has been known for its distinctive designs and technological advancements since its founding in 1925. As part of Stellantis' portfolio, Chrysler is moving towards electrification with plans to launch its first battery-electric vehicle in 2026. The Chrysler Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid represents this shift as it offers an all-electric range of 32 miles and a total range of 520 miles.

The Pacifica also boasts the most standard safety features and an advanced all-wheel-drive system in its class. It has received over 175 awards since its introduction as a minivan. Meanwhile, the budget-friendly Chrysler Voyager returns to the lineup in 2025.

As Chrysler approaches its centennial anniversary, it continues to build on nearly a century-long legacy by delivering innovative products for mainstream customers while embracing an electrified future.
