Chip Ganassi Racing's Alex Palou To Feature HRC Livery At Barber Motorsports Park Indy Grand Prix

Alex Palou, the reigning NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion, will showcase a new livery on his #10 Chip Ganassi Racing Honda at the upcoming Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix. The car will feature Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) branding, similar to the design Yuki Tsunoda used during last year's HRC crossover event in Las Vegas. This collaboration highlights the successful partnership between Chip Ganassi Racing and Honda while promoting HRC's new US performance parts business.

Palou has had an impressive start to the 2025 season, securing victories at St. Petersburg and Thermal, and finishing second at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. These achievements have placed him 34 points ahead in the championship standings as he aims for his third consecutive title and fourth in five years. The partnership between Honda and Chip Ganassi Racing has been fruitful, with multiple championships won by drivers like Jimmy Vasser, Alex Zanardi, Juan Pablo Montoya, and Dario Franchitti.

The introduction of HRC branding on Palou's car also serves to raise awareness about HRC's recent business ventures in the US. In November last year, HRC launched its performance parts business at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. This venture offers genuine HRC parts for Acura and Honda road cars. Additionally, HRC introduced its Originals clothing line earlier this month at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach.

David Salters, President of Honda Racing Corporation USA, expressed enthusiasm about partnering with Chip Ganassi Racing for this event. He stated, "We are excited to be the primary partner on the #10 CGR Honda at Barber Motorsports Park. We’ve had a very successful long-term partnership with Chip Ganassi Racing and both of us have seen a lot of success from that collaboration."

Chip Ganassi himself shared his thoughts on this collaboration: "Over the years, we have had many successes working with Honda, winning multiple championships and Indianapolis 500s. We are looking forward to partnering with them at Barber on the No. 10." The team hopes that Palou will continue his strong performance throughout this season.

Honda Racing Corporation USA (HRC US) has a rich history dating back to its founding as Honda Performance Development (HPD) in 1993. In January 2024, HPD transitioned into HRC US by merging with HRC Japan to enhance their motorsports capabilities globally. This merger allows them to lead high-performance racing programs across North America for both Honda and Acura brands.

HRC US is involved in various racing disciplines including INDYCAR and IMSA sports cars while also preparing for Formula One power unit development starting in 2026. They specialize in designing powertrains, chassis components, electronics systems along with providing technical support for amateur racers up through professional levels.

The collaboration between Chip Ganassi Racing and Honda continues to thrive as they celebrate past successes while looking forward towards future achievements together within motorsports industry worldwide.
