This modest growth was accompanied by a significant month-on-month surge of 9.1%, with sales jumping from 3,17,757 units in June 2025, spurred largely by the monsoon season's boost in demand. This marked a robust beginning for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2026, indicating a positive trend in the market.

Maruti Suzuki continued to lead the market, recording sales of 1,37,776 units in July 2025. This reflects a small year-on-year improvement, with an increase of 313 units from July 2024. However, the brand experienced a more substantial growth on a month-on-month basis, with sales up by 18,870 units from June 2025.

The market saw varied performances from other players as well. Citroen achieved a year-on-year growth of 159 units, totaling 494 units sold in July 2025, though it faced a month-on-month decline. Jeep struggled with limited product action, resulting in a decrease in sales both year-on-year and month-on-month, with only 251 units sold in July 2025.
The overall sales figures for July 2025 indicate a healthy start to the quarter for India's car market, despite the mixed performances across different brands. The total passenger vehicle sales of 3,46,669 units, with a year-on-year increase of 3,643 units and a robust month-on-month growth, reflect a market that, while facing challenges, continues to grow and evolve with the changing demands and preferences of consumers.
