California Rises Raises Over $8 Million For Wildfire Relief During 2025 Genesis Invitational

The 2025 Genesis Invitational, held at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, concluded on February 16. The event highlighted the strength of the Los Angeles community and supported wildfire relief through California Rises. This initiative, a collaboration between Genesis, TGR Live, and the PGA TOUR, raised $302,915 for Southern California wildfire recovery efforts.

Genesis contributed significantly to the cause by donating $300 for each birdie and eagle and $10,000 for every hole-in-one during the tournament. A total of 868 birdies and eagles were recorded along with two hole-in-ones by Ludvig Åberg and Keegan Bradley. This effort alone generated $279,800 for California Rises.

Fans played a vital role by purchasing tickets and merchandise, raising an additional $23,115 for California Rises. All proceeds from these sales were directed towards supporting wildfire relief efforts. The tournament also honoured first responders and front-line workers affected by the wildfires.

Genesis further demonstrated its commitment by donating 100 vehicles to nonprofit organizations like the Salvation Army – Southern California Division. These vehicles will aid disaster relief efforts and support families who lost transportation due to the wildfires.

First responders received special recognition throughout the tournament week. They were given exclusive access to events such as the official pro-am and engaged with PGA TOUR players. Their stories were shared during live broadcasts on GOLF Channel, CBS, and ESPN+.

The Genesis Lounge offered supporters a chance to send thank you notes to first responders through "Postcards from the Tee." Additionally, Jonas Never’s themed poster featuring the Genesis golf bear was showcased as part of this initiative.

Chippin’ In Series Debut

The PGA TOUR Studios introduced "Chippin’ In," a new content series starring Jason Kennedy and Jimmy Darts. The pilot episode featured Max Homa and Collin Morikawa raising funds for the California Fire Foundation. An Altadena family affected by wildfires received a $10,000 donation and a GV80 SUV during this episode.

Tedros Mengiste, COO of Genesis Motor North America, expressed pride in standing with Los Angeles during these challenging times. He stated: "Through California Rises...we’ve raised critical funds for relief and rebuilding efforts."
