BYD Strengthens UK Leadership Team To Enhance Customer And Retailer Experience
BYD UK has announced several key appointments to strengthen its leadership team. Simon Bisp is now the Head of Customer Experience, tasked with enhancing customer interactions at every stage. His responsibilities include managing inquiries, training retailer staff, and ensuring a seamless purchase and ownership experience. Simon joined BYD UK in May 2023, shortly after the brand's launch, bringing over two decades of experience from Peugeot.
Andy Dolan has been appointed as the Head of Retail Sales at BYD UK. With more than 20 years in the automotive sector, Andy previously worked for Volvo Car UK as Senior National Used Car & Remarketing Manager. He will focus on boosting retail sales, which currently account for 40% of BYD's sales. His role is crucial for driving continued growth in this sector.
Matt Collins joins as Head of Sales Operations and Logistics. With 17 years in the UK automotive industry, Matt's recent role was Omnichannel Sales Manager at Volvo Car UK. His duties include ensuring timely vehicle deliveries and optimizing logistics processes. Matt aims to enhance sales performance through data management and align vehicle availability with customer demand.
BYD UK's recent achievements highlight its rapid growth in the market. The company sold 9,271 cars in Q1 alone, marking its most successful quarter since launching passenger cars in March 2023. This figure surpasses total sales for all of 2024 combined, increasing BYD's market share to 1.6%, up from 0.45% last year.
Bono Ge, Country Manager for BYD UK, praised Simon's foundational work and expressed confidence in the new team members' contributions to growth. "Simon has done an absolutely fantastic job in laying the foundations for BYD in the UK," Bono stated. "I’m also delighted to welcome Andy and Matt to the UK leadership team."
