BYD Sealion 7 Launched In India At Rs 48.9 Lakh - 523bhp, 567km Range
Chinese carmaker Build Your Dreams has launched the BYD Sealion 7 in India. Prices for the BYD Sealion 7 start at Rs 48.9 lakh (ex-showroom). The BYD Sealion 7 is offered in two guises - Premium and Performance.
The BYD Sealion 7 Premium offers a single motor - 308bhp, 380Nm - rear-wheel-drive setup that allows for a 0-100km/h sprint time of 6.7s seconds. The BYD Sealion 7 Premium is priced at Rs 48.9 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Performance variant of the BYD Seal is priced at Rs 54.9 lakh (ex-showroom) and comes in a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup that pushes out 523bhp and 690Nm of torque, enough for a 0-100km/h sprint time of 4.5 seconds.
Both variants of the BYD Sealion 7 draw power from the same 82.56kWh Blade LFP lithium-ion battery pack. While the Premium variant offers a range of 567km the Performance version of the Sealion 7 sees the range drop to 542km (all range figures are as per NEDC testing). The Sealion 7 supports 230kW DC fast charging, which charges the battery pack from 10-80% in 24 minutes.
BYD Sealion 7: Design & Features
The BYD Sealion 7 features a fastback design inspired by the firm's Ocean X concept and it shares quite a few highlights with the Seal sedan like those headlights and the connected taillights. The front and rear bumpers though sit quite a bit higher than on the Seal and the new SUV rides on either 19 or 20-inch wheels and is offered in four colour options - Cosmos Black, Atlantis Grey, Aurora White, and Shark Grey.
The BYD Sealion 7's interiors are also a lot more conventional compared to the Seal. The Sealion 7 features a 10.25-inch driver's display and a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment display which supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Other highlights of the Sealion 7's interior include a heads-up display, a 12-speaker Dynaudio music system, powered and ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, a wireless phone charger, and a massive sunroof.
The BYD Sealion 7 comes packed with safety features including 11 airbags, a driver attention monitor, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS among others.
