BYD has made a significant impact in the electric vehicle market, both in India and globally. The company, known for manufacturing batteries for brands like Nokia and Xiaomi, has now introduced the BYD eMax7. This model is an evolution of the BYD e6, with prices ranging from ₹27 lakh to ₹30 lakh. We drove the BYD eMax7 and here’s how it performs on the road.

The BYD eMax7 features a unique front design reminiscent of sea creatures like dolphins or seals. The front end is distinct, with a large BYD logo at the centre. Sleek LED headlamps replace the traditional grille, as expected in an electric vehicle. Chrome inserts and brushed aluminium finishes add a touch of elegance.

The side profile includes 17-inch wheels and chrome accents along the skirt and roof frame. Piano black finishes on the door frames and ORVMs enhance its stylish look. The rear features a connecting tail light and split-style tail lamps, all using LED technology. A roof spoiler with a brake light and a shark fin antenna complete the rear design.

Inside, the BYD eMax7 offers a plush experience. The driver's seat is electronically adjustable, providing comfort for various heights. The steering wheel has tilt and telescopic adjustments. A 12.3-inch rotating infotainment system is a standout feature, offering both horizontal and vertical orientations.

The dashboard is made of premium hard plastic, adding to the cabin's luxurious feel. Storage options include a glove box, cup holders, and door pockets. The panoramic glass roof provides an expansive view, enhancing the driving experience during scenic drives.

The second row offers decent comfort with reclining seats and ample headroom. However, under-thigh support could be improved. Features include air vents, blower controls, and ISOFIX child mounts. The third row is cramped for adults but includes cup holders and adjustable headrests.
