2025 BYD Atto 3: India Launch, Latest Updates & Top Features You Need To Know
The BYD Atto 3, available in India since November 2022, has undergone several updates. The latest version, expected to launch in India soon, features notable enhancements. These include changes to the front design, alloy wheels, and roof spoiler. Additionally, the rear bumper has been redesigned and the taillights now have new internals for a refreshed appearance.
In terms of technology, the Atto 3's Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) have seen significant improvements. It now includes multiple camera modules, five long-range cameras, several surround-view cameras, 12 ultrasonic radars, and five mm-wave radars. These upgrades aim to enhance the system's effectiveness and user-friendliness in challenging conditions.

BYD's Blade Battery Technology
The Atto 3 is expected to retain its 60.5kWh LFP battery pack. Its front-mounted electric motor generates approximately 200hp and 310Nm of torque. Meanwhile, BYD has introduced its most affordable SUV in Europe, the Atto 2. This model was unveiled at the Brussels Motor Show and caters to those seeking an SUV with a compact size and lower price than the Atto 3.
The Atto 2 measures 4,310mm in length, 1,830mm in width, and stands at 1,675mm tall. It is shorter by 145mm and slimmer by 45mm compared to the Atto 3. The vehicle boasts a wheelbase of 2,620mm and offers a boot capacity of 400 litres, expandable to 1,340 litres with folded rear seats.
Compact SUV for Europe
This new model incorporates BYD's blade battery technology using cell-to-body construction. This method integrates the battery into the chassis with its top cover serving as the passenger compartment floor. The battery employs lithium iron phosphate (LFP) as a cathode material known for its safety and durability over traditional lithium-ion batteries.
LFP batteries are more resistant to extreme temperatures and less sensitive to temperature fluctuations. They can endure more charge-discharge cycles without significant capacity loss. The Atto 2 will be available with two battery sizes; initially offering a standard range edition with a capacity of 45.1 kWh providing a WLTP range of 312km.
The front-mounted motor of this model delivers power output of around 130 kW. A larger battery variant is set to launch soon offering extended range capabilities. Detailed specifications will be disclosed prior to its European debut scheduled for February 2025.
