Bugatti Unveils New World-Class Atelier To Enhance Production Capabilities In Molsheim

The Château Saint Jean in Molsheim has been Bugatti's home since the 1920s. Ettore Bugatti, the founder, acquired it in 1928. This site has welcomed esteemed guests, customers, and racing drivers globally. The location and its developments have maintained a natural elegance, a trait reflected in every car produced at the brand’s Atelier.

Now, with the introduction of the Tourbillon hypercar, Bugatti is entering a new era. A world-class production facility is being established on the Château grounds. This marks the next phase for Bugatti's Atelier as it transitions from concept to reality. The new structure respects the site's natural charm while adding a modern twist to its elegance.

The new Bugatti Atelier blends seamlessly with its environment. Its design rises gently from the meadowland at the Château's forefront. The building exceeds integration requirements by incorporating wild grass over 30% of its roof. It features dark walls contrasted with bright glass, creating an elegant architectural marvel.

Stretching 132 meters long and 25 meters wide, this modern facility showcases Bugatti's intelligent design approach. Expansive windows form a five-meter-high glass wall on the eastern side, inviting morning light into the workspace. Skylights throughout ensure daylight illuminates the production area all day.

The new Atelier offers more than just aesthetic appeal; it enhances efficiency significantly. With double the production capacity of its predecessor, it allows for advanced manufacturing equipment and workflow designs. This expansion brings more capabilities in-house, streamlining processes from sub-component assembly to chassis-body integration.

As Bugatti advances into a new era, its existing Atelier also evolves. Shaped like Bugatti’s iconic Macaron logo, it will serve as a space to introduce guests to the luxury marque's world. Visitors can experience Bugatti’s renowned hospitality and witness select vehicle interiors being crafted.

Continuing Legacy of Excellence

"In its own way, every vehicle that has left Molsheim has gone on to carve out a unique story in the automotive world," said Frederic Daul, Director of Operations at Bugatti. "Time after time, Bugatti vehicles have written chapter upon chapter in pushing the boundaries of automotive engineering – coming down to the incredible skill of the people in our Atelier."

The new facilities promise enhanced production capabilities and brand strength for Bugatti. New equipment is set for installation by year-end, aiming to attract talent and improve efficiencies. As Tourbillon leads this bold performance era, Molsheim remains a benchmark for excellence.

This development ensures that Molsheim continues setting standards in automotive history creation while welcoming new possibilities and efficiencies.
