Bruno Spengler Succeeds Pierre-Henri Raphanel As Bugatti Pilote Officiel, Continuing A Legacy
Since 2005, the Bugatti Pilote Officiel role has been crucial to the brand's success. This position involves showcasing Bugatti's hyper sports cars to customers globally. Pierre-Henri Raphanel held this role for nearly two decades, and now Bruno Spengler takes over, continuing the legacy.
Spengler's motorsport journey reflects relentless dedication. From karting beginnings to winning prestigious titles, his passion is evident. Now, he brings his vast experience and love for performance to his new role, defined by excellence and a rich legacy.
Born in France and raised in Canada, Spengler gained global recognition on the racetrack. After seven years with Mercedes-Benz in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM), he joined BMW M Motorsport in 2012. His career with BMW spanned over 13 years.
Spengler played a key role in BMW’s DTM return, competing from 2012 to 2019. He became one of the series’ top drivers, achieving 16 victories, 50 podiums, and winning the 2012 DTM title. His success extended beyond DTM with notable endurance racing performances.
As Bugatti’s new Pilote Officiel, Spengler will represent the brand at exclusive events worldwide. He will share his expertise with Bugatti customers and demonstrate the extraordinary performance of their hyper sports cars.

Pierre-Henri Raphanel's Legacy
Pierre-Henri Raphanel leaves behind an indelible legacy as Bugatti Pilote Officiel. A former Formula 1 driver and Le Mans competitor, Raphanel was deeply connected to Bugatti and showcased its iconic models like Veyron 16.4 and Chiron².
Raphanel set a world speed record for a production car with the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport in 2010. "I came to Bugatti without any expectations... If you’ve never been in a Bugatti, you can’t truly understand the feeling," he shared about his experience.
A New Chapter for Raphanel
Raphanel transitions into a new role as a Bugatti brand ambassador while maintaining strong ties with the company through 'Nations Racing Legends'. This venture revives the Type 52 as artful masterpieces cherished as heirlooms.
"My time as Bugatti Pilote Officiel isn’t a book; it’s a chapter of my life – 19 years long – and it is something I’ll carry with me forever," expressed Raphanel about his tenure.
