Broad Arrow Showcases Rare Ferrari F40 Competizione And Pagani Huayra R At Villa D’Este Auction
Broad Arrow Auctions is set to showcase an extraordinary array of rare and collectible cars at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este Auction on 24-25 May 2025. This event, held in partnership with BMW AG, will feature over 70 exceptional vehicles on Lake Como's shores. Among these are iconic supercars, legendary motorsport models, and rare pre- and post-war classics.
The auction will highlight a diverse selection of BMW automobiles, celebrating the marque's rich history. A special Saturday evening session will be dedicated solely to BMW models. Notable entries include a 1939 BMW 328 Wendler Cabriolet and a stunning 1958 BMW 507 Series II. The event also features two BMW M1 cars and a rare 1991 Alpina Roadster Limited Edition.
Among the standout supercars is the 1989 Ferrari F40 "Competizione," estimated between €2.3 million and €2.8 million. This model, originally designed by Enzo Ferrari, was later converted for competition use. It boasts a twin-turbo V8 engine producing approximately 648hp, making it one of the rarest F40 examples available.
The auction also includes a pristine 2022 Pagani Huayra R, valued between €2.8 million and €3.2 million. This track-focused hypercar features a naturally aspirated V12 engine delivering 850hp and weighs just 1,050kg dry. With only one owner and minimal mileage, it represents Horacio Pagani's vision of ultimate performance.
Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts will find several classic models at the auction, including a rare Medium Red 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL "Gullwing" Coupé. This iconic sports car has been enhanced with touring upgrades and is eligible for global concours events. Additionally, a beautiful Anthracite Gray Metallic 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster will be on offer.
The auction also features modern Mercedes icons like the limited edition 2006 CLK DTM Convertible and a single-owner 2007 SLR McLaren 722 Edition. These vehicles highlight Mercedes' enduring legacy in automotive excellence.
Ferrari's Rich Heritage
Ferrari's presence at the auction is significant, with notable entries such as the highly anticipated 1948 Ferrari 166 Spyder Corsa by Ansaloni, estimated between €5.5 million and €7.5 million. Other distinguished models include the elegant 1964 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso and the stylish 1965 Ferrari 275 GTS.
This event offers collectors an opportunity to acquire some of Ferrari's most coveted models, each representing a unique chapter in automotive history.
A Diverse Range of Collectible Cars
The auction will also feature other marques like Aston Martin, Fiat, Lamborghini, Maserati, and a rare Mille Miglia-eligible Stanguellini from 1947. These vehicles promise to attract interest from collectors worldwide through telephone and online bidding options.
