Mini Cooper S Convertible Bookings Open In India
Mini's open-top model, the Cooper convertible, will make its debut this December 2025. The company has now begun the bookings for this new car at authorised Mini Cooper showrooms in India. Customers can also book through Mini's official website.
The convertible will feature an electrically operated top roof. It will be based on the Mini Cooper S hatchback and has the capacity to open the soft roof even at speeds up to 30 km/h.
2026 Mini Cooper S Convertible
The convertible is very similarly designed to the Copper S. It has the same circular LED headlamps, LED DRLs, blacked-out grill with signature S badge, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and black body cladding at the bottom.
At the rear, there is an oblong-shaped Union Jack LED tail lamp, dual-tone bumpers, and Cooper branding on the tailgate with a mini badge at the top. The rest of the design and profile remain the same as the Cooper S.
The powertrain is based on its ICE sibling, which has a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 204 BHP of power and 300 Nm of torque. It is mated with a 7-speed DCT transmission. The Cooper Convertible can accelerate to 100 kph in 6.9 seconds.
On the inside, it has a dual-tone cabin and a dashboard finished with sustainable materials, which is also customisable. The convertible also gets a pill-shaped air vent, HUD display, and a 9.4-inch OLED touchscreen infotainment system at the centre, which also serves as the instrument cluster.
Features include powered front seats, a Harman-Kardon sound system, and automatic climate control. Additionally, it gets a rearview camera, wireless Android Auto and CarPlay, ambient lighting, and cruise control.
The Mini Cooper S is priced at 43.7 lakhs (ex-showroom), and the convertible is expected to be priced at 50 lakhs (ex-showroom). Its only closest rival is the MG Cyberster EV, which costs 75 lakhs, and it is fully electric. The car is set to make its debut in India next month, and deliveries are expected to commence by early 2026.
