BMW Of North America Returns As Official Vehicle Partner For BNP Paribas Open Tennis Event

BMW of North America has reaffirmed its role as the Official Premium Vehicle Partner for the BNP Paribas Open. This prestigious tennis event takes place annually at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden near Palm Springs, California. The tournament, which began with qualifying rounds on March 2 and concludes on March 16, draws tennis enthusiasts worldwide to witness top ATP and WTA players compete.

The partnership allows BMW to showcase its expanding range of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. Featured models include the fully electric BMW iX and the 717-horsepower plug-in hybrid BMW M5 Touring. Notably, Carlos Alcaraz, a two-time BNP Paribas Open Singles Men's Champion, has designed his version of the latter model, which attendees can view.

Marcus Casey, Chief Marketing Officer of BMW of North America, stated: "Our shared values of excellence, innovation, and attention to detail are why we joined forces with the BNP Paribas Open back in 2022 and we're proud to stand behind this prestigious event that embodies BMW's core spirit of performance and quality." This collaboration underscores BMW's dedication to sports and culture while engaging audiences who value performance both on the court and in vehicles.

The tournament is celebrated for its premium amenities and stunning scenery. It has been recognised as ATP Tour Masters 1000 Tournament of the Year and WTA 1000 Tournament of the Year ten times consecutively. Fans can also participate in a unique challenge where they hit tennis balls linked to design choices on a BMW configurator.

Established 50 years ago, BMW of North America supports sales, marketing, and distribution of BMW vehicles in the U.S. The company expanded with BMW Group Financial Services NA in 1993 and began vehicle assembly in South Carolina a year later. MINI USA was introduced in 2002, followed by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars NA in 2003.

Today, BMW Group operates nearly 30 locations across 12 states in the U.S., including its headquarters in Woodcliff Lake, NJ. The Spartanburg plant is the largest single BMW production facility globally, assembling over 1,500 vehicles daily. Since 1994, it has produced nearly seven million vehicles.

Economic Impact

The company's network includes 350 BMW retailers, 147 motorcycle retailers, 104 MINI dealers, and 38 Rolls-Royce dealers across the U.S. These operations support over 120,000 jobs nationwide and contribute more than $43.3 billion annually to the U.S. economy.

BMW's presence extends beyond manufacturing; it includes Designworks in Santa Monica and technology offices in Silicon Valley. These facilities focus on strategic design consultancy and research development respectively.

This year's BNP Paribas Open offers exclusive hospitality options for select BMW customers. Benefits include complimentary preferred parking for those attending with their own BMWs.
