BMW India Hits 5,000 EV Sales - Rolls Out 4,000 km Charging Corridor
German luxury carmaker BMW has delivered over 5,000 electric vehicles in India, making it the first luxury automaker to hit this landmark on our soil. To mark the milestone, BMW has launched a 4,000 km high-power charging corridor stretching from Jammu in the north all the way to Madurai in the south.
This BMW high-power charging corridor places fast-charge stations roughly every 300 km, helping ease concerns about range on long drives. It connects major routes in India through cities like Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Hubballi, Bengaluru, Coimbatore and Madurai, and is open to all EV users and not just BMW owners.

Each BMW high-power charging station offers multiple chargers with total capacities ranging between 120 kW and 720 kW for each stop. BMW has partnered with charging infrastructure providers Statiq and Zeon to run these stations and has placed them near cafés, eateries, and public areas, so drivers can relax while they charge their EVs.
The BMW high-power charging system is integrated with the myBMW app and in-car displays and it shows live charger status, routing, filters, and nearby facilities. BMW already has close to 300 Destination Chargers installed at hotels, resorts, and malls across India.

With partnerships across public charging networks, BMW's customers now have access to more than 6,000 charging points in India. Customers also get access to BMW's Charging Concierge, which coordinates route planning and lets drivers pay via a single system, allowing them to escape the hassle of juggling multiple apps.
Vikram Pawah, President and CEO, BMW Group India said, "BMW Group India is immensely proud to become the first luxury carmaker to cross the remarkable milestone of 5,000 electric vehicle deliveries. This achievement is not just a number, it represents our unwavering commitment to e-mobility and pioneering spirit in the premium EV landscape. At BMW, luxury and performance is delivered seamlessly with sustainability, and our electric products embody this philosophy. In this journey, we will continue to delight our customers with the most electrifying products and services that provide complete peace of mind. To mark this milestone, we are happy to introduce our high-power charging corridor. Across the length of the nation, from Jammu to Madurai, EV customers can now just sit back and enjoy Sheer Driving Pleasure without a second thought."
BMW currently leads India's luxury EV space for the third year running. In the first half of 2025, BMW Group India (BMW plus MINI) sold 1,322 electric vehicles - a 234 per cent jump over last year. EVs now account for 18 per cent of BMW's sales in India, with the iX1 Long Wheelbase topping the charts, followed by the i7 luxury sedan.
The BMW Group's EV lineup for India spans six electric models - i7, iX, i5, i4, iX1 LWB, and MINI Countryman E-along with two electric scooters, the CE 04 and CE 02.
