2025 Bill Neale Automotive Fine Art Award Winners Celebrate Young Talent In Automotive Art

The Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) has announced the winners of the 2025 Bill Neale Automotive Fine Art Award for High School Students. This national competition, now in its second year, celebrates young talent in automotive art. Cory Fourniquet, TAWA President, expressed admiration for the participants' skills, noting his own past interest in automotive art during high school.

Michigan's Madison Francis Randick, an 11th grader, secured first place with her piece "Legacy In Motion." She shared her inspiration from Bill Neale's work and expressed gratitude for the recognition. "Winning this award was a blessing. I truly appreciate the skills the Lord has blessed me and all the winning artists with! Thank you for the recognition and I am so very grateful for this opportunity you are giving me and other young artists," said Randick.

Alloo had previously achieved third place in last year's competition as well. The top three winners received cash prizes of $1,000, $750, and $500 respectively.

In addition to these awards, five students received honorable mentions: Evan Wong from California for "Passing the Torch," Harmon Joel Laatsch from Bonn International School for "Banana Split," William McElhoes from Idaho for "Sunset Cobra," Gabriel Cordoba Zuccher from Michigan for "The Ascent of Speed," and Lance Lin from California for "McLaren F1 Racecar."

The competition is open to U.S. high school students in grades 9-12 and those from U.S. military families overseas. The judging panel included Shan Fannin, a realist vehicle painter based in Austin; Leslie Neale from the Neale Family; and Aaron Shelby from the Carroll Shelby Foundation.

This year’s award also supports art education through a $4,200 donation to the Texas Cultural Trust’s Art Box project. This initiative provides essential art supplies to underserved Title 1 elementary school students across Texas as part of their Arts Access program.
