Bentley Motors Unveils State-of-the-Art Excellence Centre For Quality And Launch In Crewe
Bentley Motors has inaugurated its cutting-edge Excellence Centre for Quality & Launch at its Crewe headquarters. This facility is essential for the brand's shift towards electrification, particularly in preparing for Bentley's first Battery-Powered Electric Vehicle (BEV) set to launch in 2026. The opening marks a significant milestone in Bentley's strategic plan, Beyond100+, which aims to transform the company's product range for an electrified future.
The new centre spans two floors and covers 8,000 square metres. It includes a production proving ground and a mini assembly line designed to test future BEV assembly processes. Additionally, it features a technical centre dedicated to testing materials, conducting high-precision measurements, and analysing vehicle reliability. These facilities ensure that Bentley maintains the quality and performance expected of its luxury vehicles.
Bentley's Beyond100+ strategy is pivotal in reinventing the company's entire product lineup to support an electrified future. The Excellence Centre will play a crucial role in this transformation by supporting new technologies and setting benchmarks for luxury cars of the future. The facility is designed with zero environmental impact in mind, aligning with Bentley's commitment to sustainability.
Gunnar Kilian from Volkswagen AG and Bentley’s Board of Management were present at the opening ceremony. They highlighted the centre's importance in upholding Bentley's reputation for unparalleled quality, precision, and craftsmanship. The facility will serve as a collaborative workspace for Quality & Launch teams, ensuring that these standards are met as Bentley delivers its first fully electric vehicle.
Andreas Lehe, Bentley’s Member of the Board for Manufacturing, emphasised the significance of the new facility: "The Excellence Centre for Quality & Launch is a key building block for the successful delivery of the Beyond100+ strategy. The facility represents a significant step forward in transforming our historic Crewe site into a world-leading hub for sustainable luxury automotive production."
