Bentley Motors Unveils New Design Studio To Inspire Future Luxury Vehicle Designs

Bentley Motors has transformed one of its most historic buildings into a new Design Studio. This building, known as the 'Front of House,' now features a modern design crafted by Bentley's own team. The opening event was attended by Bentley’s Chairman and CEO, Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, board members, and 4,000 employees. Architect George Clarke hosted the event, offering insights into the building before it becomes a secure environment.

The studio's exterior retains its iconic 1930s fascia design, restored by Bentley’s designers. A new emblem, the 'Bentley Wings,' was unveiled last week. This marks only the fifth logo change in Bentley's 106-year history. Inside, the brass stairwell from 1939 has been restored and adorned with a plaque highlighting its significance.

The new studio is about twice the size of its predecessor. A third floor has been added to the original structure, blending creation and renovation while focusing on sustainability for Bentley’s carbon-neutral factory. This space preserves Bentley's heritage while inspiring around 50 designers to innovate future exterior and interior designs.

For the first time, designers from various departments such as colour and trim, Mulliner, and UX/UI will collaborate under one roof. This setup aims to enhance how drivers interact with their vehicles in the future. Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser stated: "We are currently steering the biggest Bentley design revolution in our history."

Bentley's headquarters in Crewe is undergoing significant investment to prepare for future developments. Known as the 'Dream Factory,' this site includes recent additions like an Excellence Centre for Quality and Launch and ongoing construction of a new Paint Shop and BEV assembly line.

The restoration of the original brass stairwell exemplifies Bentley's commitment to preserving history while embracing innovation. Andreas Lehe, Board Member for Manufacturing, expressed pride in modernising the site while respecting its origins.

This transformation represents just one step in Bentley's journey to create state-of-the-art facilities that are digital, innovative, and flexible. The new Design Studio embodies this vision by providing a collaborative environment that fosters creativity among designers.

The studio officially opened just before unveiling a new concept car on 8 July 2025. This event underscores Bentley's dedication to evolving its design language while honouring its rich legacy.
