Ben Announces New Senior Leadership Team To Enhance Strategic Direction And Support
Ben, a charity in the automotive sector, has unveiled changes to its senior leadership team to align with its new strategic goals. Martin Smith has been named Director of Finance, Governance & Impact. He will manage the Finance, Technology, and Data & Insights teams and oversee Charitable Impact temporarily. Martin collaborates with Rachel Clift, CEO, to enhance Ben's frontline Support & Specialist Services.
Gary Burgham, HR Director, and Zara Ross, who transitioned from CEO to Transfer Programme Director, have departed from Ben. Both were crucial in steering the organisation's strategy to transition its care and village services to alternative operators. Jonathan Cox also stepped down as Finance Director but will stay on briefly to aid the final stages of this transfer process.
Matt Wigginton has taken on the role of Director of Growth & Development. Since joining Ben in 2015, Matt has led partnership and fundraising efforts using his experience from both commercial and non-profit sectors. In his new position, he will spearhead income generation through fundraising and business development activities, aiming to deepen industry engagement.
Ellen Plumer has transitioned into the newly established role of Head of Awareness & Experience. With a decade at Ben in various senior management roles, Ellen previously managed marketing, communications, and outreach activities. She continues leading these areas while focusing on significantly increasing awareness and enhancing user experience for all stakeholders.
Sarah D’Addio is now Head of HR after serving as Interim HR Manager since 2023. With over 20 years in HR across strategic and operational roles, Sarah brings a comprehensive perspective shaped by hands-on leadership in dynamic environments. Her appointment strengthens Ben's focus on supporting its workforce effectively.
Rachel Clift expressed gratitude towards Gary, Zara, and Jonathan for their significant contributions during a period of major change. "Their leadership was key in transitioning us into a focused health and wellbeing charity," she stated. Rachel also welcomed Martin, Ellen, Matt, and Sarah to their new roles within the organisation.
